The secret of the largest river in Kamchatka is trying to uncover not only rescuers and volunteers, but also psychics.

In addition, professional divers from Khabarovsk flew to the aid of the Kamchatka Emergencies Ministry employees on an amphibious aircraft. The rescuers brought with them underwater equipment that allows them to search in cold water at great depths, and special equipment - a radar complex, an underwater video camera and a lighting kit …

On November 2, two residents of the Klyuchi - the SABIROV brothers (54-year-old Valery and 48-year-old Andrei), as well as 61-year-old Sakhalin resident Alexander IONIN and 39-year-old Khabarovsk resident Andrei TOKAREV - both employees of Dalmostostroy, on a motor boat "Crimea" went fishing from the village of Klyuchi downstream of the Kamchatka River. They did not intend to go far - no more than 10 km from the village. It was planned to return on the same day at 17:00. But people disappeared without a trace in an inhabited area where cellular communication works, there are roads … Some kind of mysticism …

The press center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory reported that the search work has been carried out since November 3 - immediately after a relative of one of the men announced the loss. During these days, the water area, the left and right banks of the Kamchatka River downstream, the area of the Kazachka channel and the Proklyataya channel, as well as the Sobachy island were examined. A large-tonnage boat, allocated by the Ust-Kamchatka seaport, was attracted to the search, because it is very dangerous for a small fleet to go out onto the river: a sludge is going through Kamchatka, and in some places ice began to freeze the water.

To date, more than 200 km of the coastline and 75 sq. km of the river from the air. However, so far the search has not yielded results, but they continued with renewed vigor. Yesterday morning, November 12, the divers who arrived from Khabarovsk, together with their colleagues from the Kamchatka branch of the Far Eastern Regional Development and Trade Organization, went in search of the missing men.

According to the newspaper Kamchatskoe Vremya (KV), the head of the diving search and rescue unit of the DVRPSO Andrey PODSHIVALOV, the echo sounder with the function of side-scan sonar is quite effective. Side-scan sonar works at a depth of 40 meters and scans the ground.

We'll be back home in an hour

Promotional video:

As KV managed to find out from reliable sources, the police were able to trace the place from which the last call was made from SABIROV's mobile phone, who called his wife and said that in an hour the group would return home. This place and its surroundings were thoroughly examined, but they did not find any boats, things, or traces of the missing men. On the river, they were looking for possible traces of gasoline or engine oil. They were not found either …

Psychics

According to some reports, the relatives of the fishermen who disappeared without a trace turned to psychics for help. Clairvoyants supposedly show places on the map, but they cover long distances: using such data is probably quite difficult. The psychic sees images of men in visions: one has a broken leg, the second waves his hand on the river bank, and the third has shoulder straps on his shoulders.

There may be several assumptions about where men might have gone. Perhaps they are in trouble and are waiting for help somewhere in the taiga. An attack by bears cannot be ruled out, of which there are still a lot in those places this year, because due to a lack of food, clubfoot cannot hibernate. In this situation, traces of the attack would have remained in any case, but people did not find any. The most tragic scenario is the sinking of the boat. Again, after sinking, something should have surfaced. For example, a bright canister that fishermen had with them, or fishing rods. Well, at least something!

SOS

Rescuers and volunteers are sent out daily to find men. Here is what a relative of one of the missing wrote on the website of the KAMINFORM news agency:

“It was not criminals and not poachers who disappeared, but people who worked for the good of the Motherland: builders (one of them is honored), an officer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations - all professionals in their field, dear good people! We need volunteer people. Time and chances are short due to the harsh climate. Respond all who can! Relatives are ready to pay a reward for those found! This is a cry from the heart. We ask you to help us - to respond to our pain,”said the son of one of the missing, Dmitry.

According to him, his father came to Kamchatka to build a bridge. “He is the head of the site - a well-known person in the Far East. Together with him was an equally respected person - a mechanic from the same site. An employee of the local Ministry of Emergency Situations and his brother are missing, - said Dmitry. - They are all respected people. They didn't poach, they just went fishing on the day off and didn't return."

The relatives of the disappeared express their deep gratitude to the entire team of the Sakhalin bridge squadron (JSC Dalmostostroy). “Special thanks go to the management, represented by the head of the Sakhalin bridge detachment Boris Evgenievich ChverkalyukA, deputy head Sergey Vladimirovich Mina, to mechanics, foremen, drivers, machine operators, ordinary workers, and other bridge builders of Dalmostostroy, who are currently at the construction site of a bridge over the Kamchatka River in the region Keys.

Special thanks to the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police, the State Inspection Service, as well as friends, colleagues, the population of the Kamchatka Territory, people who voluntarily make incredible efforts and patience in search of our relatives! - said Dmitry.

Sacrifices to the river

When this article was being prepared for publication, we wondered where the strange names of the channels that are often crossed by boats came from. Here's what we found out about the Damned duct. As the historian and local historian of Kamchatka Viktor BORISOV told "KV", at the beginning of the twentieth century a priest from Klyuchi was driving through this channel, and his dog team fell through the ice. This priest (presumably Mikhail EROKHIN) cursed the channel, giving it its current name.

In 1908, a member of the RYABUSHKIN expedition named BER drowned in this channel. Several years ago (10-15 years) several militiamen drowned near the Damned, who were later erected a monument on the banks of the Kamchatka River. Around the same place 7-8 years ago a group of officers went hunting. When they boiled fish soup, they accidentally added a poisonous herb to it - carrots.

All officers died due to poisoning. In the 30s of the last century, a group of children drowned on Lake Kurazhochnoe (not far from the Cursed), who were gathering wild garlic near the reservoir. The indigenous peoples called this place, which had a bad reputation, called Kamaki, which means Mermaid. Old-timers say that Kamchatka rivers take people as tribute, but this is a topic for psychics …

The Kamchatka River is the largest river on the peninsula. Its length is more than 750 km, the Itelmen name is Uykoal, which means "Big River". Kamchatka has two sources: the left one, which originates in the Sredinny ridge (Ozernaya Kamchatka river), and the right one in the eastern ridge (the Pravaya Kamchatka river). Merging within the Ganalskaya tundra, they give rise to the Kamchatka River itself. It flows to the north, but in the area of the village of Klyuchi it turns sharply to the east and flows into the Kamchatka Bay, forming a wide mouth, the fairway of which is constantly changing.

Kamchatka is the only river of the region that is of navigable importance. Currently, Kamchatka is used for navigation 200 km from the mouth. In the lower reaches, the depths on the stretches in low-water periods reach 5–6 m, on the rifts - about 2 m.
