UFO

On March 10, 1894 in the village of Melnichny, which was 21 versts from Omsk, as well as in Omsk at half past nine in the evening, the population saw the following phenomenon: in full moonlight, a ball of bright green color, the size of a large watermelon, suddenly appeared in the western part of the sky and slowly began to move across the evening sky, and then suddenly disappeared.

Mysterious "airplanes"

This story took place at the very height of the First World War, in 1915-1917. It just so happened that the main center of the incidents was our city, which was the capital of the Steppe region of the then Russian Empire. It all started with a report from the Akmola governor Neverov to the Governor-General of the Steppe Territory N. A. Sukhomlinov. The report said, in particular: “I report to your Excellency that rumors are circulating among the population of the Petropavlovsk district of the appearance of some mysterious lights near the village of Mikhailovsky in the Petropavlovsk district at night.

A peasant from the village of Mikhailovskoye, Sergei Kirillovich Dikiy (one surname is worth it!) Noticed, eight miles from the village, a cone-shaped pillar of fire of yellowish-red color, belted in the middle with a black ribbon, five vershoks wide. After a while, this fire disappeared, and in that place three fireballs, the size of an average dinner plate, appeared, as if hanging in the air one above the other along a vertical line; This phenomenon lasted for an hour and a half, then the lights seemed to fluctuate … and soon they completely disappeared …”The clerical officials were not in the mood to delve into the meaning set out on paper, much less to investigate what was stated. They fused a copy of the strange letter to the gendarme office. They decided that it was all about the "idle fantasy of a commoner." The case was closed and handed over to the archive.

For about six months, the Steppe Territory lived its ordinary life, and they began to gradually forget about the mysterious incident, but it was not so! In the summer of 1915, rumors began to reach Omsk about the appearance of various mysterious aircraft from Semipalatinsk, Pavlodar, Kokchetav and other settlements.

Promotional video:

These inexplicably mysterious objects, when they appeared, had a wide variety of shapes - from "big cage" to "steel eagle". And soon, fireballs began to appear in Omsk, disturbing the peaceful peace of citizens with their arrivals. It seemed that in the second half of 1915, in the entire Steppe Territory, officials of all stripes and departments did not have a more important and urgent matter than interviewing witnesses and eyewitnesses of mysterious nighttime incidents. The mysteriousness and inexplicability of the phenomena frightened the officials. A clear and accessible explanation of what was happening was needed. And it appeared.

Mysterious night flights were attributed … to a German reconnaissance airplane, and persons of German nationality were declared as accomplices of espionage from the light hand of those in command over the Steppe region. That's it!

Ghost

In the 70s of the nineteenth century, a telegraph employee Ts. Lived in Omsk, who enjoyed a good disposition among his colleagues and superiors. No sins, like drunkenness, card games and love affairs - he was not found. For no apparent reason, he suddenly committed suicide, deciding himself with a shot from a hunting rifle that belonged to him. The arrow was buried without a funeral service on the sidelines, in one of the city cemeteries. And a week after the funeral, this is what happened. At 11 o'clock in the evening, in one of the central squares of the city, someone insistently called for a cab. A citizen got into the droshky that drove up and ordered to be taken to the cemetery. The unsuspecting driver fulfilled this wish. When they arrived at the cemetery gate, the rider got off and, addressing the driver, said:

One can imagine the horror and amazement that seized the cabby. Only now did he see that the passenger he was carrying was in a white shroud and in a cap with a cockade. True, the "living dead" paid for his fare, giving the driver a two-kopeck coin. When he returned, stunned by such an unprecedented event, the cabman shared with his comrades in the profession about his adventure.

They did not believe the story of their colleague. Wanting to show evidence, the driver reached into his pocket for the money handed to him, which was simply not in his wallet. It is unclear how this whole story would have ended - with a general laugh or an indication of the narrator's temporary insanity, if at the same time another cabman, completely unfamiliar to those present, had not joined this company, who told word for word the story he had heard.

Both drivers contacted the police. A search was organized for the intruder, which did not yield any results. Rumors spread throughout the city that grew into fear. Inhabitants of distant quarters did not go outside at night, preferring to sit at home. On the square, where it happened, already at nine o'clock in the evening it was impossible to find a cab. The drivers circled her prudently.

Explanations for all these mysterious events were subsequently never found!
