“Smart tourist”, as Aleksey Golovin himself calls himself, has revived the megalith park in the Iset. According to the traveler, nature and ancient people created it 300 million years ago, and he only studied the history of these places and organized excursions around them. Megaliths, according to Alexei, are able to restore the mental strength of a person and restore harmony - all this is felt by the visitors. True, scientists are sure that the source of such sensations is not at all the power of these places, but rather the power of self-hypnosis.
Around the world for insight
It all started 4 years ago, when Alexey and his family went on a trip around the world.
“We have visited all continents. First, in a month we traveled all over Turkey, the next year we went to the Dominican Republic, saw South America, and a year later we went from Baikal to Asia. We looked at China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos. From Malaysia we flew to Australia, where we stayed for a month. From there, through New Zealand, we flew to South America, saw Argentina, and then the money ran out and we returned home. We were in Machu Picchu, were at the megalithic complexes in Australia. And when I came back here and started walking here, I realized that our rocks are also difficult,”says Alexey.
About 2 years ago, a traveler came across a tourist map of these places, covering an area of 5 by 5 kilometers, showing all the rocks. The main object on it was the famous Devil's Settlement. The traveler began to rummage on the Internet to find the meaning of this whole complex.

Head and shoulders above Stonehenge
“I started to study and found out that such complexes were made in the form of a head. And this landscape, if you look closely, really looks like a head. Here you can see the face, eyes, nose, neck, forehead,”explains Alexey

Further - even more interesting. It turned out that the head is also some kind of astronomical clock, in which each rock corresponds to a certain month.
“There are only three places in the world where there is an astronomical clock, including Prague, Egypt. Where did the time come from? Our solar system moves along the Milky Way, and the ratio of the Sun to other planets gives time, day and night. In fact, time is the movement of the planets. And our Slavic calendar is precisely tied to this time, to this movement of the planets, it is considered the most accurate in the world. It has 9 months in a year, 40 days in a month, and 9 days in a week, by analogy with the 9 planets of the solar system. Each rock, each astronomical zodiac is a palace, this is a certain month. It turns out that in Yekaterinburg we have an astronomical complex head and shoulders above Stonehenge, made in a landscape with rocks. In fact, this is an object of international importance,”says Alexey.
Here, a thoughtful tourist should spot a stone eagle.
He is sure that the rocks were needed not only to determine the time, but for something more. Each rock, each point on the map in some positive way affects the physical, spiritual and moral development, on the relationship between people. According to Aleksey's assumptions, 300 million years ago, this object was used as a kind of educational and recreational complex, where people achieved harmony, healing and developed incredible abilities.
Alexey intends to re-create just such an educational and health-improving complex. The plans are to develop here the so-called "smart tourism" - travel with benefits for the mind and body. And there are already tourists, while mostly yoga.
The place is not yet popular with the general public. According to Alexei, the story that he voices, although beautiful, but due to its versatility, does not find its target audience - neither adherents of Slavic philosophy, nor astrologers, nor astronomers, nor even archaeologists fall under it.
“I also treat this story as information, I will not say that I strongly believe or do not believe. But the story is very beautiful and, in my opinion, from the point of view of tourism development in the region, very interesting,”says Alexey.
"Stone" truth of scientists
A beautiful traveler story is shattered by the facts of scientists. According to Roman Volkov, a leading specialist of the research and production center for the protection and use of historical and cultural monuments of the Sverdlovsk region, the so-called megaliths in the form of eagles, basilisks and other wildlife are just ovens from the 18th - early 20th centuries.
“People worked - stone pickers, tackers, whoever else was working in the forest - they were building a stove of stones, stretching a tarp. Food was prepared in this stove. There are such stoves all over Eastern Europe, where the forest is high, where there are forests and mountains, they are in Hungary and throughout the Urals, explains the archaeologist.
If we talk about real archaeological monuments, then there are 113 of them on the territory of the urban district. Most of them were discovered in the 80s-90s of the last century, now, due to limited funding, development is practically not carried out.
Most of the archaeological sites outwardly represent nothing. If you don’t know, you will pass and don’t notice. These are just flat places where at one time any signs of the vital activity of the ancient population were found.
Monument of 360 thousand square meters
The most famous of these monuments is the Kalmatsky ford in the Gati region. It is a burial ground. The monument was opened in 1926. There were opened 26 graves on one side and 28 on the other. Later, in 1934, other burials were uncovered - men, women, adolescents, with artificially dismantled skulls characteristic of the Sarmatians, but they had already been plundered by black diggers. Together with the skeletons, inventory, items made of stone, bronze, and iron were found. The burials date back to the last centuries BC.
There was also found a huge site of ancient people with an area of 360 thousand square meters, 2 dwellings, 3 dugouts 7.5 by 7.5 meters, a huge number of objects made of ceramics, stone, bronze, dated to the era of the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age (13-7 centuries BC). The finds made in Gati are widely represented in the regional museum.
Traces of ancient people in Baltym
Now, when making changes to the general plan and the rules of land use and development of the territory in relation to Baltym and Sanatorium, the administration takes into account the unaccounted for monuments located in the village of Sanatorny, on the western shore of Lake Baltym. In total, there are 17 sites of ancient people in this area, dating from the Neolithic era to the late Iron Age. One of the monuments in the area of Cape Listvenny - with an admixture of the Mesolithic. Most of these objects have not yet been studied, and these works are not planned in the near future.
“In the region, monuments were opened in the 70s-80s-90s - early 2000s. Now there is practically no money, there are few targeted developments. Nevertheless, the monuments are still opened every year. We have been assigned a task for 2-3 years - to accurately determine the boundaries of the monuments located in the region. This year, a lot of such works will be carried out, during which sometimes new monuments are also found,”says Roman Volkov.
Top of the archaeological "iceberg"
Of the real objects that are accessible to the sight of a tourist, there is the famous complex on Mount Sagrinsky Tolstik. He became famous after a crushed stone quarry was almost arranged in his place.

The monument consists of granite tents that form a small room without a roof. Most likely, it was a cult complex, it was used as a sanctuary.

Also, tourists can see an ancient settlement in the area of Lake Melkoy near the village of Gat. Outwardly, it is shafts, ditches.
“In general, we try not to promote the places where the monuments are located, because treasure hunting is very common. Despite the fact that both the police and the FSB are connected, we do not have time to catch everyone. You come to the monument, and everything is dug up there, you come with metal detectors and shovels. And this material is already lost for science,”shares Roman Volkov.
Archaeological sites are monitored by specialists only once every five years. Of course, under such conditions, black diggers cannot be caught at the crime scene. You only have to deal with the consequences of their work.
