There are many places in Russia that are usually called unkind or damned. Ghosts are often seen there or strange things happen to people. Not all of these places are far from civilization. One of them is located in the very center of the capital. This is the house in which the People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR and Stalin's closest assistant Lavrenty Beria lived. How does this mansion scare Muscovites?
Not a good place
The squat white and blue mansion at Malaya Nikitskaya, 28 does not evoke any creepy associations. It looks cozy and well maintained. High windows, bas-reliefs on the walls. In addition, now this building houses the Embassy of Tunisia. But the story fetters him with icy horror. However, it did not become so immediately. The building appeared here in 1884. And as if from the very beginning a gloomy aura surrounded him. It was built for himself by the famous metropolitan Stepan Tarasov. He was the mayor of Moscow, however, for only six months: from March to September 1885. Unable to cope with the red tape, he fell ill and resigned. So, apart from the house, Tarasov did not leave any special memory in the history of the capital. The house passed from officials to entrepreneurs. During the revolution, people were shot in his basement. And in 1938, the head of the NKVD Lavrenty Beria moved to the mansion.
Bloody Commissar
Beria became the head of the NKVD after the "iron people's commissar" Yezhov, the next year after the "great Stalinist terror." Therefore, the reputation of the head of the Commissariat of Internal Affairs was appropriate. He was called the all-powerful ruler of Moscow. In addition, Beria's personal qualities added gloom to him.

He loved women very much and could afford any. There were legends about black "Volgas" that drove around the capital and brought the girls personally to Beria's house. However, some of them never left this house. Some say that a stone crusher was installed in the basement of the house, where the bodies of the victims disappeared. Others - that in the courtyard of the mansion there was a small crematorium for these purposes. But the house on Malaya Nikitskaya, even during Beria's life, tried to bypass the side. Beria's career ended in 1953. According to one version, he was shot in the basement of his own house. And what happened to the body is not known for certain - there are no acts of burial or cremation. Since then, the devilry began to happen.
Ghosts, screams, curses
According to one of the Moscow legends, at night a ghost car appears near Beria's house. Headlights light up in the distance, you can hear the sound of an approaching car. The car itself is not visible. But you can hear her stop, the door opens, a man comes out.
Voices are heard, drunken screams. The car drives off. They say that at night in Beria's house, female voices are heard from the basement. And someone walks through the rooms with a heavy, heavy gait. In the 90s, employees of the Tunisian Embassy renovated the building and found instruments of torture in the basement. They say that Beria himself put his hand to them, preferring to personally torture some of his victims. Fans of supernatural theories claim that the house has a dark and oppressive energy and its walls are literally saturated with fear. But even people who are not inclined to believe in mysticism admit that Beria was followed by gloomy glory, and the deeds that were happening in the house on Malaya Nikitskaya, 28, cannot be called good.
