Unable to explain some of the phenomena, people created myths. Not knowing until the end of individual stories - they came up with legends and traditions. Mystical and mythical Minsk - in the program “Minsk and Minskers”. A presentation of a new book by the Moscow ethnographer Vladimir Volozhinsky took place.
The author himself admitted that higher powers constantly interfered in the process of writing and publishing the collection. For example, he found out about the release date of the book, of course, on the 13th! The local historian also shared his favorite legends.
The book is divided into four sections. In the first - myths and legends related to the period from the emergence of the city to the beginning of the twentieth century, in the second - the legends of the Soviet period. The third section is toponymic. The fourth reflects modern urban folklore.
The collection of Vladimir Volozhinsky also includes the works of his colleagues. Irina Maslenitsyna started researching the other side of reality back in the years when she came to work in Pruzhany as a young specialist. Most of the legends and legends about Minsk, one way or another, are connected with history, the interlocutor notes.
Archaeologist and historian Sergei Tarasov also told the author an interesting legend. When the excavations of the Minsk castle were going on, the workers raised the coffin with the remains of an upper-class girl.
