These are not otherworldly beings who return from the grave to drink the blood of their victims and gain eternal life. At first glance, these are the most ordinary people. They have one feature - an incomprehensible addiction to drinking blood.

Many of today's vampires do not hide their "tastes". Moreover, they emphasize them in every possible way, dressing in black, sharpening their fangs and applying appropriate makeup. They have their own clubs and hangouts, where they can take their souls away.

There is a vampire research center in New York under the direction of paranormal specialist Dr. Stephen Kaplan. According to the professor, 25 vampires are the object of his research. In addition, he personally knows 500 vampires, 300 of whom live in the United States, and three in England. However, all of them, as a rule, do not use human blood, but the blood of animals - most often cows or chickens. Some people drink blood from each other or find partners who allow them to do it with themselves voluntarily.

Kaplan has organized something like a community of vampires, where the latter come to communicate with each other. So, a certain Misty has been attending these meetings for over 20 years. When the pretty blonde first appeared in the center, the visitors were so captivated by her that they began to ask the girl to … bite them!

Another "client" of Kaplan - Carol Bogenen from London - works in a motorcycle shop during the day and goes to vampire parties at night. Her fangs are sharply sharpened, like a real ghoul. She wears black and red, does not like sunlight and dreams of living in a Gothic tower, riding a racehorse and … sleeping in a coffin! In an interview, Carol says: “My parents are not very surprised because vampires have always been on my mind. As a child, I was never afraid of horror films. I love the taste of blood. When cold, it tastes metallic and tastes stronger than hot."

Over the years of studying his "wards", Dr. Kaplan deduced the following patterns. Vampires, he argues, tend to have dark hair and brown eyes. Male vampires are about five feet ten inches tall, female vampires five feet six inches tall. The average age of men is 26 years, women - 23 years. According to statistics, vampires live longer and look younger than their peers.

Most vampires are not aggressive at all. They are not able to suck enough blood to kill the victim, and almost never attack people against their will. Unlike their mythical counterparts, real ghouls are not afraid of prayers, the cross, and holy water. But they really do not like garlic - perhaps because it breaks down fats that are contained in the blood.

By the way, all vampires are afraid of AIDS like fire. If they give preference to human blood, then they try to find a permanent "donor".
