Loch Ness has excited the curiosity of literally all researchers in the world throughout the twentieth century. The lake monster Loch Ness, which lives in its cold waters, has been known since the Middle Ages, but it was our time that made the lake so popular that it became the main tourist route in Scotland.
Ancient castles and chapels, ruins and museums all pales in comparison with the mythical monster, the dinosaur from the Paleozoic. The famous lake is located in the north of Scotland, near Inverness. It was based on the Great Glen tectonic fault, so the depth of the bottom is huge - 230 meters. The lake is fed by glacier melt water, the water in it is cold and muddy, full of peat suspension.
But this coldness is deceiving - the lake is very beautiful. The water reflects the sky and shores like in a mirror, and the surrounding landscape is calm and majestic. Indeed, the monster could not find a better home than Loch Ness.
It is possible that the belief about the monster arose due to the natural characteristics of this place. During the day, the water surface is brightly lit, and as soon as evening comes, a thick fog begins to swirl over it, taking on bizarre outlines. It is up to everyone to believe and not believe in a Scottish dinosaur, but even pragmatists will be interested in visiting a museum with exhibits telling about the legendary dinosaur.

It should be noted that tourists are attracted not only by the hope of seeing the unlikely. On the banks of Loch Ness there is a ruined fortress with a more or less preserved tower - this is all that time has left from Urquhart Castle. Interesting excursions are held on its territory every day.
