What do you know about dragons? They were ancient creatures, either completely real, or mystical or fictitious. Images of these animals could be found on artifacts from medieval Europe, in China, Japan and many other places.
But apparently no one expected to find images of dragons on artifacts found in Siberia. And during the next archaeological work on the territory of Khakassia, archaeologists found that the population of Southern Siberia also worshiped these mythical creatures.
Have you ever heard of the Iyussky treasure? This collection of artifacts was discovered back in the days of the Soviet Union - in the 70s of the last century on the territory of Siberia.
These artifacts were found by a simple worker of the Iuss state farm in Khakassia S. A. Fefelov. At that time, he was working on a field located near the small lake Sarat.
It is interesting that by that time this field had been plowed up for several decades and no one would have thought that there could be any archaeological values there.
Nevertheless, Fefelov's tracts ran into something large and metallic. As it turned out later, it was a bronze cauldron, in which many ancient artifacts were discovered. In total, the cauldron contained over a hundred ancient things.

The mountain of the same name was located not far from Lake Sarat, and next to it archaeologists discovered many ancient monuments - burial grounds, fireplaces, rock paintings, etc.
Even Soviet archaeologists were convinced that the image of dragons on these things was not at all a simple imitation of Chinese culture.
Rather, it was the original symbolism that the inhabitants of Southern Siberia used several thousand years ago. Several buckles and images of these ancient lizards were found. They have completely different sizes and are not very similar to each other.
Archaeologists have suggested that in the past, these buckles could be used as a talisman and were supposed to protect their wearer from danger. But the question is - was the image of the dragon borrowed by the peoples of Siberia from someone else or not?
According to archaeologists, most likely the "Siberian" dragons were distinctive symbols. Indeed, on the buckles found, the dragon is depicted in motion, it seems to be twisting in a spiral.
And in the images found in China, the dragon is usually depicted in a completely different pose - zigzag. Nevertheless, archaeologists admitted that at the end of the first millennium BC, the entire territory of southern Siberia could have come under strong Chinese influence. But scientists believe that the dragons depicted on the found buckles are original symbols.
