In the steppes of the Volga region, not far from the city of Zhirnovsk, there is a place recognized as one of the most mysterious anomalous places in Russia. This is the so-called Medveditskaya ridge. Since ancient times, this place has been called cursed. Legends about the strangeness of this area are legends, but one can be convinced of their veracity even now. UFOs in the form of triangles are common here, as are traces from their landings in the fields.

One of the slopes of the mountain in the anomalous zone was nicknamed by the locals the Slope of Mad Lightning. Everything on this slope has traces of electric shock. Scorch marks on stones, trees, frequent fires on the slope - everything seems to be like from a meeting with an ordinary ball lightning, but this is not so.
When meeting a person, ball lightning bypasses him or, passing through a person, do him no harm. People who have encountered this say that they felt absolutely nothing at the moment when the lightning passed through the body.
The place of special activity of ball lightning is associated with the numerous tunnels in the mountain. Moreover, the tunnels are clearly artificial. The walls of the mysterious tunnels are carefully crafted and have the correct shape. This is not typical of natural underground faults.
Lightning comes out of the ground, in any weather, at any time of the year. Obviously, it is the tunnels that are a kind of path for ball lightning. Interestingly, burnt trees are located just above the tunnels. Scientists have studied more than three hundred of these trees. The result was amazing. The trees are burnt from the inside from the bottom up. It turns out that lightning struck trees from under the ground.

Many of the researchers who have directly encountered ball lightning talk about the intelligent behavior of these objects. So far, no one has managed to unravel the secret of the tunnels. One of the expeditions, which penetrated further into the tunnel, was attacked by hundreds of fireballs. And they had to go back.
