In the United States, an amphibian breeder recently hatched a baby turtle with mutations so rarely combined that it doesn't even have a veterinary name.
The turtle is albino, and its tiny heart is on the outside, on the belly of the shell.
Despite such life-threatening conditions, the turtle is in no hurry to die and seems to be feeling quite normal.
A similar condition of the heart in humans is called ectopia of the heart and it occurs in about 1 case in 126 thousand births.
The current owner of the turtle named Hope (Hope) is Mike Akulina or AquaMike from New Jersey. He got the cub from a local amphibian breeder named Gerard.

According to Mike, he created all the necessary conditions for the turtle to be as comfortable as possible. However, for this, it was necessary to exclude any contact of Hope with other turtles. This can be deadly for her.
Hope feeds on krill and frozen fish fry. She is also sometimes given oysters, snails and bloodworms.
When asked if it is possible for Hope to undergo heart surgery, Mike does not give a definite answer.
