Haunted castles are found all over Europe. Most of them are in England, but there are many in other countries. There are not so many castles in Italy, but there are many beautiful villas and old mansions that can compete with many castles in legends and ghosts.
Villa de Vecci
Lake Como in Northern Italy is known not only for its beautiful views, but also for its amazing beauty of an old mansion built in the Baroque style. The building, abandoned today, was erected in 1854 by order of Count Felice de Vecci.
De Vecchi, having visited many countries, decided to return to his homeland and build a house for his family. To do this, he bought 32 acres of land, on which the country residence of the de Vecchi family was built. They usually lived in the villa during the summer. In 1862, this tradition had to be stopped. The count was absent from the villa for some time, and upon his return he found his wife dead. His daughter is missing. The count spent a lot of money on finding out what happened and looking for his daughter, but he could neither find out who was responsible for the murder, nor find the child. Heartbroken, the Count committed suicide in the villa. He was only 46 years old.
The villa was inherited by Felice's brother, Biago de Vecchi. He made some changes in it and remained its owner until the outbreak of the First World War. In the future, the villa often changed owners.
It is said that in the 1920s one of the most famous occultists, sorcerers and Satanists, Aleister Crowley, visited here. Some believe that he came to perform some mysterious rituals.
In the 1960s, the villa was sold again, but finding a new owner was difficult. No one could dare to purchase a building with such a history. Ville is more than a century and a half already, but she is not going to collapse. In 2002, a massive stone landslide occurred in the area, which destroyed many houses in the surrounding villages, but Villa de Vecci remained intact. It was argued that here, too, it was not without otherworldly intervention.

Those who have been to the villa say that they heard a grand piano playing in it, but the deceased Countess was very fond of music and knew how to play this instrument. We also saw the ghost of a little girl in the villa. Locals hope that the new owner will keep the villa, renovate it and do everything to keep the ghosts of de Vecchi happy and not disturb the area.
