The incredible, but rather anti-scientific, machine is believed to have been built in the 1950s by a group of respected scientists led by Pellegrino's father Maria Ernetti (an Italian physicist who later became a priest).
It is indicated that the team received significant help from the Nobel Prize laureate Enrico Fermi, as well as the "parent" of the Vau rocket, the German scientist Werner von Braun.
According to rumors, the Chronovisor machine is a relatively small object armed with N number of antennas. The movement, assembled exclusively from precious alloys, contains cathode tubes, dials and levers.

Ernetti's father's records suggest that whoever uses the device can capture and photograph specific places in time, observing significant events in history worthy of attention. According to Father Ernetti, among other historical events, he saw the crucifixion of Christ and photographed it.

However, despite much that has already been said, Ernetti's father remained an extremely secretive person. He explained the containment of information by the fact that he was bound by an obligation, and therefore could not disclose more details about the unique mechanism of the Chronovisor.
At the same time, Ernetti further explains: Chronovisor works on the principle of "processing the residual electromagnetic radiation preserved from numerous processes."
According to dubious reports, Father Ernetti used the "photographic time machine" to observe important historical events, the most notable incident being the crucifixion of Jesus Christ among others.

The French priest François Charles Antoine Brune was one of the first to be initiated into the Chronovisor mystery. Priest Brune met Father Ernetti in the 1960s while they were both passing Venice's Grand Canal. As two experts in ancient languages and colleagues, they started talking about the Bible and its interpretation.
Father Brune was very intrigued when Ernetti revealed to him that there is a machine that can answer all the questions related to the Bible.
Pellegrino Ernetti described the device in comparison with the TV, only the transmissions are received not from local stations, but from the past, allowing the viewer to "see and hear" events that took place centuries ago.
- Of course, I could be wrong, but apparently the "hellish machine" of the inventors was able to connect to the astral field of the Earth, a giant archive from the time of the universe.
The assumption is based on the words of Ernetti: the Chronovisor is tuned to images and sounds "created" by a person who "float" in space.
They say that this intriguing device was extremely interested in the experts of the Vatican (the only state of its kind in the state). In the end, the ingenious invention was taken to the Vatican, but not destroyed.
Some believe that the Chronovisor is still somewhere in the basements of the Vatican, hidden in one of the many cells.

According to one of the versions regarding the secret technology, Ernetti's father and Co. decided to voluntarily dismantle the device. Scientists motivated their decision by the fact that, snatching the events of the past and the future, if the artifact fell into the wrong hands, it could serve as "the most terrible instrument of the world dictatorship that ever existed."
Interestingly, before his death in April 1994, Ernetti's father left a letter in which he assured of the reality of the device, denying the claims of hoax, as many believed.
He also said that Pope Pius XII forbade inventors from disclosing any details about this device. Dad considered the "infernal machine" an extremely dangerous thing that could limit a person's freedom.
In 1988, the conspiracy theorists point out, the Vatican unexpectedly issued a decree warning that "anyone using a tool of such characteristics will be excommunicated."
This was considered by many to be a strange and unnecessary warning, since according to early claims the Chronovisor never existed. So why issue a cautionary warning with a threat if it was a beautiful story of a hoax about a secret artifact?
