Climate weapons do not exist, but their development is being actively pursued both in America and in Russia.
Abnormal weather phenomena of this summer, and not only this summer, confuse weather forecasters - predictions do not come true. What happens to the weather? Here is the deputy of the State Duma Alexei Zhuravlev explained the forest fires in Siberia and the storm in Moscow, which was preceded by many days of downpours, with the possible use of climate weapons against Russia. “And I think the West could have tested climate weapons. We understand that there cannot be such a summer,”the parliamentarian explained.
Man has always been afraid of natural disasters and at the same time tried to control them. It is a well-known fact - bell ringing helps fight hail, spraying ordinary cement in the clouds temporarily interrupts the rains. Thanks to the influence on the ionosphere, tsunamis and hurricanes can now be provoked. There is no official confirmation of the existence of "weather weapons", but back in 1978 a convention was adopted on the prohibition of negative impact on the climate, which were signed by the USSR and the USA, among others. And the "battle for the weather" seems to be going on.
According to experts, there are no active climate weapons today. But research is underway both in Russia and in the United States at full speed. The prospect of real creation of combat climate weapons is rather distant - it will take more than a dozen years.
Developers of unconventional weapons are not standing still. Now in the depths of the Russian defense department, a program has been prepared for the creation of weapons based on new physical principles - radiation, genetic, psychophysical and wave. This exotic weapon, if you believe the statements of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, may appear in the Russian army after 2020.
Military research institutes, design bureaus and laboratories continue research work to create non-lethal weapons - that is, one that does not kill. Russian scientists, for example, have already created a device that can disable the enemy's electronics. A beam cannon stops tanks at a distance, knocks fighters or unmanned aerial vehicles off course, and detonates radio-controlled mines.
“Climatic weapons, as a manifestation of a higher power, have been known to mankind since biblical times,” says media consultant Alexander Zimovsky. - The Bible contains no less than fifty examples of how the salvation of the righteous or the punishment of the guilty occurs as a result of cataclysms associated specifically with the weather. The Flood in various versions is present in almost all ancient and now existing world religions known to us. This is the historical nature of human knowledge. As soon as a person masters a certain knowledge or technology, he begins to consider new possibilities from the point of view of use for military purposes.
When analyzing the combat capabilities of climate weapons, one must proceed from an understanding of the fact that weather is not climate. Snow that suddenly fell in June 2017 in St. Petersburg is a weather anomaly. The beginning of ice drift on the Neva in June for 5-10 years in a row is a signal of a possible climate change.

“If we are talking about a hypothetical, on a planetary scale, the use of climate weapons,” continues Alexander Zimovsky, “then we must understand that the results of its use can manifest themselves over very significant periods of time.

In fact, tactically, what do we need? Yes, everything is the same. The enemy is advancing, which means that Generals Dirt and Frost are in our interests. We are advancing, which means that the terrain must be passable, we do not need rain.
Another example. Aviation is considered all-weather, as is the ocean fleet. But again, this is a matter of theory: the excitement is over five or six points - and the aircraft carrier is already just a target. He is incapable of combat, carrier-based aircraft will not take off.
It would seem - what is easier? "Wind, wind, you are mighty, you drive flocks of clouds" … Maintain stormy weather in the area of operations of the US 6th Fleet, and that's all. However, neither we nor the Americans have yet learned how to use typhoons in the fight against aircraft carrier groups.
And if we talk about the real combat capabilities of the world's largest players, then, despite all the ongoing modern research, the only weapon that creates a short-term, medium-term and long-term climatic effect is the atomic bomb.
The Winter Olympics in Sochi in February 2014 was held at a high level - these sports games have become an element of Russia's prestige and considerable funds have been invested in their organization. Only weather conditions could accommodate, but at this time of the year in Krasnaya Polyana, where the main competitions of winter sports were held, there are always low temperatures and a dense layer of snow. Nevertheless, if you remember, it was in those days that rains unexpectedly fell in the region, which almost ruined the entire world sports festival. A whim of nature? As it turned out, the human hand was also involved in these cataclysms.
Sports battles were in full view of the entire planet, but the battle for the weather went unnoticed. But she was no less tense. The Americans then tried to artificially create a temperature regime on the Black Sea coast of 25-30 degrees above zero. No snow, no Winter Games. The Russian project has failed!
The "attack from the sky" was provoked from distant Alaska, where a powerful radar complex is located, which acts on the ionosphere, which makes it possible to make adjustments to the weather at a great distance. The situation was corrected thanks to a retaliatory "strike" from a similar Russian station "Sura", located near Nizhny Novgorod, which stopped the heat stroke.
By the way, it was in that year in the American Chicago that a temperature of 40 degrees below zero was recorded, at the same time the famous Niagara Falls was covered with ice. Russia's counter move?
“Officially, climate weapons do not exist,” says military meteorologist Alexander Minakov. - Attempts to influence (or rather, this is the study of the ionosphere) have been going on since the beginning of the 60s of the last century. And they do not stop until now.
However, the same Americans practically curtailed these developments due to their cost and lack of concrete results. The fact is that the weather cannot be controlled, it can only be corrected. The most famous method in our country is to interrupt the rains on holidays, which has already been used many times.
The Americans also used similar methods - only with the opposite result - during the Vietnam War, when they carried out Operation Popeye. Then their transport planes sprayed silver iodite in the sky, which caused rainfall three times higher than normal. As a result, roads were washed out, communications were destroyed. But the effect turned out to be dubious and short-lived.
There are also positive examples of climate change. As, for example, it was after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, when Soviet geoengineers prevented an environmental disaster. The radioactive dust was "tied up" with special compounds so that it would not be carried by the wind. To prevent the dust from being washed into the rivers, an anti-rain barrier was made in the sky.
By the way, Stalin can be called the ancestor of domestic climate weapons. In his youth, Joseph Dzhugashvili worked for a short time at a meteorological station as an observer. And it was on his initiative that, during the Great Patriotic War, automatic probes were thrown into the enemy's rear, which transmitted information about weather conditions, which made it possible to correct the actions of Soviet aviation. And the famous parade on November 7, 1941 took place largely due to the fact that a forecast was received about inclement weather, which impedes the activity of enemy bombers.
Stalin used in the defense of the capital such a natural factor as an artificial flood - the ice on the Moscow Canal was blown up, which made it difficult for the German tanks to advance.
Attempts to create climate weapons have been carried out repeatedly - both in the United States and in Russia (USSR). The Americans have chosen Alaska for testing in the ionosphere, where they use the HAARP and HIPAS systems and another similar one in Puerto Rico. In Europe, in Norway, two complexes for the study of the ionosphere (as officially declared) have been installed, which are used in the interests of the United States. There is a similar one in Peru.
In Russia, in a practically disbanded form, there are complexes of active influence in the aforementioned Nizhny Novgorod ("Sura"), in Tomsk, on the basis of the ionospheric station of the Siberian Institute of Physics and Technology, in the Kharkov region ("Uran-1") and Tajikistan ("Horizon") … Information about them is not widely disseminated, but strategic meteorological work is underway. And, probably, the earthlings feel their results in the periodically arising natural disasters.
- The impact on the nature of the Earth is a rather dangerous game that can turn into serious consequences, including for its organizer, - Alexander Minakov believes. - Moreover, there are no specific, documented results from the thermal heating of the atmosphere, which was used by these stations. There is more mythology, which is trying to explain natural disasters.
Most likely, in such studies, a more practical option is used, applicable to the missile defense system, which both the United States and Russia are concerned about. After all, vibrations in the ionosphere can completely paralyze the control of ballistic missiles, knock them off course. Another thing is that under this influence both aliens and their own rockets, and at the same time - all spacecraft can fall.
Likewise, the places on the planet where an earthquake or tsunami will occur caused by human intervention is unpredictable.
