True ancient wedding traditions have long been lost in today's variety. Newlyweds have the right to go wherever they want, get married wherever they want, and they do it according to the rules of the country where they go on their honeymoon. Someone more like the medieval castles of Europe, where the bride and groom can feel like a modernized medieval aristocracy. And someone prefers to get married on the islands of Haiti, surrounded by natives performing their ritual dances.
A modern Russian wedding is not at all like a traditional one. The wedding was replaced by civil registration, after which the bride and groom take a route tour of the most beautiful places of the city, where a wedding photographer will become the director for them, having made thousands of photo shoots, of which it is good if only one tenth is left as a keepsake for posterity.
Of all the traditions, only the wedding feast remained, which has always been part of the wedding ritual. Here, every guest can show themselves by raising a toast to the newlyweds. And for some reason all the guests try to shout "bitter" at the end of the toast, forcing the young to kiss in order to sweeten the bitterness with a kiss.
However, as the writer and scientist Vladimir Shemshuk, who studies ancient Russian traditions, says, earlier it was never possible to shout “bitterly” at a wedding, otherwise the whole life together would be bitter, they shouted only “sweetly”. Also, it was impossible to scatter trifles in the path of the newlyweds. This ritual in ancient times meant that they would beg for their whole life, that is, live in poverty. In no case should one steal a bride. This ceremony means that the bride can be taken away from you.
Real Russian rituals and sciences were destroyed by the Bolsheviks for specific purposes, in order to direct the Russian people in the opposite direction from the culture and customs originally given by our ancestors. The carriers of culture were destroyed, and therefore there was such a terror for several decades on Russian soil. And those who survived unknowingly stepped on the wrong path laid by false historians so that we would never reach our goal. Many, by their naivety, believe that there is nothing wrong with modern traditions, since they have never come into contact with real Russian culture, which we all should know.
