A 39-year-old Muscovite with a so-called two-horned (or heart-shaped) uterus safely endured twins.
There are only 12 such cases in world medical practice in the entire history.
About one woman in a thousand is born with a two-legged uterus. This is the name for two developed and subsequently fused into one uterus.
With such a pathology, it is difficult to conceive and safely bear even one child, not to mention twins.
The first to tell about the unique medical case was the publication Moskovsky Komsomolets. An unnamed resident of Moscow really wanted to have children and for many years tried to get pregnant, but nothing worked out for her and the doctors said that the case was hopeless.
But then the woman suddenly became pregnant and it was a real miracle. And when it turned out that she was carrying twins, her case was immediately called unique.
In the late gestation period at 37-38 weeks, fearing for the lives of the children, the woman was safely cesarean. The operation took place in the Bauman City Clinical Hospital No. 29, a group of four specialists monitored the woman's condition.

The heterosexual twins Varvara (weighing 2650 g) and Eugene (weighing 3260 g) were born.
The children were completely healthy and the mother's health was not in danger either. Moreover, the doctors said that in the future she will be able to have more children, since her unique uterus was not damaged by the caesarean.
The very same happy mother is sure that she had twins precisely because of the two-horned uterus, since each of them was carried on her “half”.
