We rejoice in frost only when he comes in the form of a kind old man with a beard, a fur coat and a sack full of gifts. In all other cases, cold is the eternal enemy of humanity. To escape from him, people wrap themselves in fur coats, down jackets, put on thermal underwear. But even this does not save, the noses and cheeks frostbitten during the winter holidays do not count!

However, it turns out that we carry a stove that protects from the cold inside us. Yes, yes, in your body!

Why didn't our ancient ancestors die during the ice age? After all, they did not always sit by the fire, wrapping themselves in skins - they had to get food and firewood. Why do Tibetan lamas not freeze while sitting on a glacier in the mountains in shabby cotton rags and at the same time managing to dry wet towels on their bodies?

If they can do this, it means that the human body is naturally resistant to cold. But how do we find a way to turn on our internal stove?

Biologist Rinad Minvaleev and mathematician Anatoly Ivanov not only found it, but also found a theoretical basis for such a mystical miracle.

Secret

The secret to self-regulation of the body was hidden in Tibet. For thousands of years Buddhist monks have been practicing one of the branches of yoga there, which is called tummo. This is a technique of self-regulation of the body, which makes it resistant to cold.

The most famous adept of this direction of secret knowledge - the Buddhist monk Milarepa, who lived in Tibet in the eleventh century, once spent six months in an ice cave filled with an avalanche. He praised the method that saved him in verse: “What do I need noble silk and fine soft wool for? The best clothing is the warming fire of bliss tummo …"

“The word“tummo”is not used in everyday speech to denote the ordinary concept of heat,” notes Minvaleev. - This is a technical term in mystical terminology. The word "tummo" in the secret teaching means "light flame".

… Minvaleev mastered the methods of tummo in the Himalayas, already knowing why they work. After all, he found the secret of conquering the cold back in Russia, in the research of the former prisoner of the GULAG, Professor Karl Trincher.

“He was a wonderful Soviet scientist, Austrian in origin, his forgotten discovery is worthy of the Nobel Prize,” says Rinad Sultanovich. - He noticed that in laboratory animals with a lack of oxygen, the temperature in the lungs rises. And he made an ingenious conclusion: “The lungs are the only organ where fats, reacting with oxygen, burn directly. Without any enzymes."

Tibetan monks and yogis have known this secret for thousands of years. By controlling their breathing, they learned to start the "stove" in the lungs. In high altitude conditions, where there is little oxygen in the air, this is easier to do, but Russian scientists have learned to control body temperature on the plains. Returning to St. Petersburg, Minvaleev and Ivanov demonstrated their skills publicly: in a twenty-degree frost in an hour and a half, they dried wet towels on their naked bodies!

The Tibetan monks did not assume that Rinad and Anatoly understood the secret of tummo first in theory, and mathematics helped this.

Practice

Anatoly Ivanov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, has calculated that oxidative processes in the lungs, on which the heat production of the body depends, can proceed more intensively. Using the laws of thermodynamics, he proved that the main “oven” of the body should be located in the center of the body, and not on the periphery, that our reflexes to cold - muscle tremors and “goose bumps” do not provide the required amount of heat. And with the help of equations he calculated that there is a theoretical possibility to increase the efficiency of our natural “stove”, to make it use oxygen more rationally.

That is, he made up a mathematical model that confirmed the reality of Professor Trincher's discovery.

Rinad Minvaleev, an associate professor at St. Petersburg State University, Candidate of Sciences in Biology, found practical advice in Tibetan manuscripts on tummo and modernized this method. Monks master it for decades, and the students of the St. Petersburg scientist - in just twenty minutes! Minvaleev and Ivanov have repeatedly experienced tummo on themselves and on volunteers on expeditions in the Caucasus and the Himalayas.

- We were helped by the director of the film studio "Pharaoh" Irina Arkhipova, the research is included in her author's project "In Search of Lost Knowledge", - Rinad Sultanovich notes. - We returned from the last expedition to Tibet in November, so all the achievements in conquering the cold were filmed for a documentary …

It is noteworthy that an important condition for the success of the experiment is high-altitude hypoxia - oxygen deficiency - and low temperatures. It is curious that with this method, the subjects as they climbed to the top showed a decrease in atherogenic fats and cholesterol - the vessels were cleared! It turns out that with the help of it you can not only warm up, but also be cured of atherosclerosis. And the stress hormone cortisol in the blood also became less.

- This means that our method of increasing cold resistance does not involve the mechanisms of stress adaptation of the body, concludes Minvaleev. - That is, it does not wear out its resource, because under stress, our organs work like an engine running on afterburner. And here, on the contrary, it even rejuvenates the body.

Minvaleev received a patent of the Russian Federation for the invention of a method for normalizing adaptive functional human systems, which is based on the elements of the Tibetan "yoga of inner warmth of tummo".

The new method has a great future, in cold Russia it is needed by everyone who has to work in the cold. Indeed, for experienced tummo craftsmen, heat generation becomes a natural function, it automatically turns on when the ambient temperature drops, like climate control in a car.

Probably, the method of combating the cold based on tummo will be useful not only for security officials and employees of the Ministry of Emergencies. Who knows, maybe in the future it will become fashionable and girls will walk along the snowy streets in mini-skirts and blouses barely covering their belly?
