Humanity has never given up trying to find out both the past and the future. And prophets are born who are able to lift the veil of secrecy. One of them was Edgar Cayce, an American mystic, medium, and self-proclaimed "healer."

Casey answered a wide variety of questions, ranging from diagnoses and prescriptions for patients and ending with information about the causes of the death of civilizations. Since the overwhelming number of predictions were made by him in a trance, reminiscent of a dream, he received the nickname "The Sleeping Prophet".

Edgar Cayce was born in 1877. His abilities began to manifest early. As a child, he had problems with spelling and the father, who decided that his son was shirking his studies, hit him. He fell off his chair, and when he found himself, he heard a voice: "If you sleep a little, we can help you."

It was difficult for the child to understand who said this, but he was sure that he clearly heard the voice. Subsequently, it was enough for Edgar to sleep with any textbook under his head in order to know its contents.

In 1900, Casey fell ill with laryngitis and completely lost his voice, and in 1901 the hypnotist Hart offered to cure him. Edgar agreed, but the voice returned to him only during the hypnotic session, and upon awakening it disappeared again. When Hart left, Casey was taken care of by local hypnotist Al Lane. As Edgar described his own illness and how to treat it in a trance, Lane could only follow his instructions. And the voice returns to Casey.

Successful recovery inspired: Casey and Lane begin to heal the locals. Casey goes into a trance and gives advice on how to treat them. Gradually, they switched to an extramural form of treatment - they could simply indicate the location of the patient and his name, and Casey spoke about the diagnosis and treatment.

He became so popular that people from all over the world began to mail for his advice. Over time, Casey's wife and his eldest son replaced Lane. And the secretary, Gladys Davis, began to transcribe Casey's “readings”, since he himself did not remember anything he said during his trance.

Cayce was asked different questions: about God, soul, immortality. When asked about the source of information, Cayce replied that his "conscious mind obeys the subconscious, superconscious and psychic mind and communicates with their own kind."

It is interesting that, despite his deep faith in God, Edgar eventually fully come to terms with the idea of reincarnation of the soul and reincarnation, although this was not in Christian doctrine.

The Sleeping Prophet often referred to previous incarnations of his clients, and explained to them that many of the problems of the present have more distant roots than people imagine.

Casey was convinced that all people remember their past lives on an unconscious level. This unconscious memory provides the basis for the talents, preferences, thoughts of each person. After rebirth, a person should try to use the experience gained in past incarnations.

Casey not only helped people, but also talks about the history of mankind and the legendary disappeared continent of Atlantis. In his "readings" he pointed out that the civilization of the Atlanteans had reached an exceptionally high material and scientific level. He believed that many souls who lived in Atlantis are incarnating on the planet in our time.

It is interesting that many details of the destruction of Atlantis not only coincided with the descriptions of Plato, but also with the comments of the theosophical writer Helena Blavatsky in her work "The Secret Doctrine".

Both Blavatsky and Cayce mention the high technical achievements of the Atlanteans: huge cities, aircraft and the use of energy sources such as a laser beam and nuclear energy.

In the 1920s, Edgar began reporting on future world events. During his life, Edgar Cayce made a lifetime of about 14 thousand prophecies, but not all of them are made public.

He predicted the First and Second World Wars, the beginning of the economic crisis in 1929, the independence of India, the formation of the State of Israel, and predicted the "death in office" of two presidents. And he surprised everyone by saying that in the second half of the 20th century, a woman will become the Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Many of his predictions are tragic: terrible cataclysms by the beginning of the third millennium should change the face of the Earth. According to Cayce, the cause of the cataclysms will be a change in the tilt of the earth's axis and a shift in magnetic poles. These processes will lead to radical changes throughout the planet, but America will suffer the most.

Areas of the east coast near New York, and possibly New York itself, will practically disappear from the face of the Earth. Here, however, another generation will live. As for the southern parts of Carolina and Georgia, they will disappear completely.

New York, Connecticut and other areas on the East Coast will shake so that they disappear from the face of the Earth. The waters of the Great Lakes will flow into the Gulf of Mexico. Volcanoes in Hawaii will wake up, and such a strong wave will roll that the southern coast of California will disappear under water in three months …

In the northern regions of Greenland, open waters will appear, new lands will appear in the Caribbean. South America will shake from top to bottom, and in Antarctica, not far from Tierra del Fuego, the earth will rise from the bottom and a strait with raging waters will appear.

How much all this corresponds to the truth, only time can answer. However, scientists already know today that there is an intensive expansion of the ocean floor in the Atlantic Ocean region, and under the Pacific Ocean, on the contrary, the same intense compression, as a result of which a powerful tension of tectonic plates spreads under both continents of America.

According to eyewitnesses, the sleeping prophet often spoke about our country. This is the future he predicted for Russia almost before his death in 1945:

“The hope of the whole world will come from Russia. She's not in so-called communism. Not. But true freedom, when everyone lives for the sake of their neighbor. This principle appeared there. It will take years for it to crystallize. Nevertheless, hope for peace will come from Russia again."

Cayce himself did not consider the prophecy to be absolute truth, for this, in his opinion, would exclude free will and the power of prayer, in which he firmly believed.

Casey died on January 3, 1945 at the age of 67. His last words were: "How our world now needs God."
