Reports of rivers, rains and bodies of water turning red around the world have shocked biblical scholars, who warn that this phenomenon is a sign that we have reached the end times as predicted in the Book of Revelation.
One photographer described the reddened Nahal Alexander River as "the biblical bloody plague in Egypt."
The Alexander River flows the entire width of Israel, from the Nablus hills in the West Bank to the sea. This river is loved for its wildlife and beauty, but in recent weeks it looks filled with blood.
For several weeks now, several Israeli media have been publishing photographs of the Red, blood-filled water.
Authorities accuse Palestinians of blood flowing into the river from one or more Palestinian slaughterhouses in the northern West Bank town of Tulkarm.
Rivers in China, Russia, Lebanon and the Netherlands, as well as bodies of water in the United States, Australia and Sri Lanka, have recently turned blood red, according to local news channels, in some cases leaving scientists and experts at a loss.

The Molchanka River in the city of Tyumen, Russia, turned red overnight, leaving local residents worried about the quality of their drinking water, as well as worried that we have entered the end times.
In the Dutch town of Nutdorp, the canal turned dark red, which puzzled the locals. This phenomenon prompted local residents to remember the Bible prophecies about the transformation of water into blood.
"It looks like red wine," said Nutdorp resident Mark Ruder in an interview with Dutch company Telstar Online. "It's probably algae," Ruder suggested, "but this just doesn't happen in our region."
However, David Dilling, an American living in the Netherlands who captured this strange phenomenon on video, described the canal water as turning into "blood red, the biblical color."
Biblical scholars argue that scientific explanations for this phenomenon are of secondary importance to the fact that God said the water would turn red at the beginning of the end times.
These scholars point to the water-to-blood prophecies found in the Book of Revelation of the Old Testament, which explain that rivers flowing red are one of the signs of the End Times.
Australia's famous Bondi Beach has also recently turned blood red. The event, dubbed the "crimson tide" in local media, amazed Sydney residents who had never seen anything like it before.
The Jian River, which flows through Luoyang City, Henan Province in northern China, has turned blood red.
And in Texas, Fisherman's Lake turned red.
Pastor Paul Begley of the Community Evangelical Baptist Church in Knox, Indiana. said people should pay attention.
“I’m not saying this Lake Texas is these scriptures in Revelation, but what I’m saying is Bible prophecy is slowly being fulfilled in the middle of the end-time revelation - we must be ready to face the coming,” he said.
- God said it would rain blood. Keep in mind that there will be physical and scientific reasons for all of this, just like the earthquake that God used to make the walls of Jericho fall. Let's remember that God said what would happen, not necessarily how!”
Is Pastor Begley right? There is more and more evidence that it could be. And Sri Lanka recently experienced a "rain of blood".
Rare red downpours fell for more than 15 minutes in Sevanagal, Monaragal and Manampitiya, Polonnaruwa. According to sources in the Department of Meteorology, red rain fell in these areas and the cause has not yet been established. Red rain in Sevanagal and Manampitiya left red hoarfrost on the ground. This is the first time that red rain has been witnessed in Sri Lanka.
What does the Bible say about rivers and bodies of water that turn red?
Prophecies about turning water into blood are found in the Book of Revelation:
Revelation 8: 1. And when He opened the seventh seal, there was a silence in heaven, as if for half an hour.
Revelation 8: 2. And I saw seven Angels who stood before God; and seven trumpets were given to them.
Revelation 8: 3. And another angel came and stood before the altar, holding a golden censer; And a great deal of incense was given to him, so that with the prayers of all the saints he might place it on the golden altar that is before the throne.
Revelation 8: 4. And the smoke of incense ascended with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the Angel before God.
Revelation 8: 5. And the angel took the censer; And he filled her with fire from the altar, and cast her to the earth: and there were voices and thunders and lightnings and an earthquake.
Revelation 8: 6. And the seven Angels, who had seven trumpets, prepared to blow the trumpets.
Revelation 8: 7. The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there was hail and fire mingled with blood and fell to the ground; and a third of the trees were burnt up, and all the green grass was burnt up.
Revelation 8: 8. The second Angel sounded his trumpet, and as if a great mountain blazing with fire fell into the sea; and the third part of the sea became blood, Revelation 8: 9. and a third of the animate creatures living in the sea died, and a third of the ships perished.
Revelation 8:10. The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a large star fell from heaven, burning like a lamp, and fell on a third of the rivers and on the sources of waters.
Revelation 8:11. The name of this star is "wormwood"; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many of the people died of the waters, because they became bitter.
Revelation 8:12. The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and the third part of the sun and the third part of the moon and the third part of the stars were struck, so that the third part of them was eclipsed, and the third part of the day was not bright, just like the nights.
Revelation 8:13. And I saw and heard one Angel flying in the middle of heaven and speaking with a loud voice: woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on earth from the rest of the trumpet voices of the three Angels who will trumpet!
