On November 30, 2007, in Norway, when workers were working to expand the park, a hole in the stone was discovered that had an unusual shape.

After removing surface vegetation and loose surface material, contractors began working on the massive mountain. It was during this work that this hole was discovered inside the mountain. The hole is peculiar, it looks like a seven-sided star. It penetrates deep into the mountain. (According to local residents; contractors reached four meters uphill, the hole is said to extend horizontally inward parallel to the Vold Fjord in a northwest direction, the hole slopes slightly downward) the hole diameter is about 65-70 mm. Currently, no one knows how far this hole extends or how it formed.

The pit had seven corners, similar to branches and having a diameter of six centimeters, and was led parallel to the mountainside and went into the fjord. The hole machining was very smooth along the entire length, without any roughness or sharp edges. Analysis by specialists showed that there were no signs of glass transition that could lead to heat treatment of the hole. Radioactivity studies were also negative. There were even traces of sand in the pit. Thus, the researchers were placed in a failure to provide a clear answer about how the hole was made.

The hole went further down, passing through the ground at an angle of 20-30 degrees down. Unfortunately, the pit was covered in mud and has not yet been rebuilt. But according to those who saw him, he too was in the shape of a star with 7 edges.

The hole was named the star Volda and although the cavers tried to explain the mystery, their efforts were fruitless. Each trial got bogged down in missing one or more puzzle pieces. It's just that no one could explain how it was possible to make such a hole, given its very special shape. The material that was once a hole is not very easy to process, and I mean granite.

Various newspapers, both local and national, tried to find a solution, but none of them succeeded. Geologists, scientists and drillers across the country have been contacted, but so far no one has come up with an answer to how this hole was made.

The hole was found by a builder working to remove bits from the mountain to make way for a construction project. After he dug a couple of meters into the mountain, cutting down large chunks of rock, he noticed a strange star-shaped hole in two boulders.

A hole was dug about 4 meters from the mountain. At the top of the mountain there was a layer of clay and mud, which, according to neighbors, no one had ever touched.

Many different theories have been presented about the origin of the hole. Some have suggested divine intervention, UFOs, weathering of mineral ores, hammer drills and unbalanced drill heads. But so far no one has been able to show a link to such holes.

Local legends circulating among the people living in the area say that on certain days for several years in the area where the hole is a vapor that emits a yellow-green or orange or reddish light. Of course, this was before the opening of the hole, when people did not know about its existence.

In subsequent years, more and more people attracted interest in this area to seekers of secrets, who carried out various checks and other holes were discovered.

There is still no answer to the question of who, when and how made these holes in the thickness of the granite.
