I'll start with the official history. As strange as it may seem, but who built the city and how, historians did not come up with, apparently understood that it was too absurd. Therefore, the entire history of the ancient city begins with a period of 200-300 years BC, it was then that the first information about it appeared.
Immediately I want to say about the title of the article, it is not entirely correct, since the city is the largest in terms of blocks used in buildings, and not territory.
The most interesting structure, at least for our time, is the Temple of Jupiter, 3 blocks weighing 800 tons are laid in its foundation, the most interesting thing is that for installation, these blocks were somehow raised to a height of 7 meters, and here already have something to think about.
The Temple of Jupiter, I consider the most interesting structure right now, due to the fact that we may simply not know about many things. Unfortunately, most of the city remains in ruins.
And now, the most interesting thing related to megaliths begins. Under the known, most likely, every Southern stone, weighing 1650 tons, excavations began.
As a result of excavations right under one of the largest megaliths in the world, 2 more blocks were discovered, moreover, of a larger size, the approximate weight, as far as we know, is 2,000 tons each.

Even more surprising is that right under the southern stone a cut line was discovered, as far as is known, even and possibly through, but only the width of the megalith is 4 meters, how could the ancient builders have done this?
And now it is necessary to return to the South stone. The fact is that the South stone is at an angle and this can be seen in any image. So, in order to put it like this, the megalith must be raised to a height of 10-15 meters and specially set such a position.
By the way, the South stone itself and the blocks found below simply did not have time to deliver to their destination, as if something unexpected happened for the ancient builders unknown to us.
And apparently, what is discussed in the article, I think, a megalith weighing 1650 tons for an unknown civilization was quite simple to lift and transport, most likely even easier than for us.
As I wrote in an article about the world's largest megaliths, for one ascent of such a megalith as the South Stone, more than a dozen modern equipment and cranes are needed.
And it all ends with the most interesting. In the blocks that were not taken out of the quarry and in those that have already been installed, small square depressions were cut out and there are many of them, but why this was done is a mystery.
The most surprising and obvious even for a person who does not think about alternative history is the traces of machine processing.
On the installed blocks along the entire length there are rather deep parallel grooves, with approximately one step, I do not think that anyone will find excuses for this in natural phenomena or anything else.
One could talk about the other remaining elements in Baalbek, but this is more than enough to formulate a logical version.
I think that Baalbek was built 5, 7, and possibly tens of thousands of years ago, and this unknown civilization was not even at our level of development, but at a much superior level, otherwise it is simply impossible to explain much.
In addition, the incredible size suggests that the city hardly belonged to ordinary people. Many may think that this is nonsense, but there are no structures, stairs, columns and other so huge in the world anywhere in the world and if it was created by ordinary people, then this is at least stupid.
