An ancient Hebrew treatise could help scholars locate treasures from the plundered temple of King Solomon. This applies not only to jewelry and artifacts, but also to the legendary Ark of the Covenant.

According to James Davil, a professor at St Andrews University in Scotland, a recently translated text entitled "Treatise of the Ships" (Hebrew Massekhet Kelim) claims that many prophets and Levites hid treasures. Some of them were hidden in different parts of Babylonia and the Land of Israel, some fell into the hands of the angels Michael, Shamsiel, and, probably, Sariel. In any case, the author of the ancient treatise did not name the exact place in which the Ark could be located. Only vague hints are given that the treasure is safely hidden from the hunters and will not be discovered until the day of the coming of the Messiah - the son of David.

The Ark of the Covenant or the Ark of Revelation is considered one of the greatest shrines of the Jewish people. Legend claims that it contained the tablets of the Covenant made of stone, on which the ten commandments were carved. It was lost in 586 BC, when the troops under the leadership of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the Jerusalem temple. There is no information about the further fate of the Ark, and there are still many disputes about this. There is a version that it was safely hidden under the cornerstone of the universe in Jerusalem. Some experts claim that the Ark was taken to Babylon, after which its traces are lost.

The legends that shroud the shrine have allowed filmmakers' fantasies to play out. For example, there is a version of the search for the Ark from the cult directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, who sent Indiana Jones in search of the lost artifact. He was looking for him in the lost Egyptian city of Tanis. Although Jones managed to retrieve the Ark, it ended up walled up again, only this time not under a layer of stones and sand, but in one of the government warehouses.
