Sooner or later in every person's life, there comes a moment when he hears his speech in the recording and notes with horror that his voice sounds completely different from what he thought. The experts explained why this is happening.
“People usually don't like their speech if you record it and let them listen. Simply because a person hears his own voice somewhat differently from others. It should be noted here that the voice in the recording is exactly what others hear when you speak, so, of course, it is better to accept your speech, and not try to deny its true sound,”says the head of the Center for Hearing Sciences at the University School of Medicine. Pennsylvania, Yale Cohen.
But why do people hear their own speech differently from others? Everything, in fact, is quite simple - this is due to the three small bones that people have in the middle ear. They are part of the biological mechanism for processing sound that makes your brain receive sound in an optimal way.
But in the case of speech that you make yourself, these bones work in a very specific way - they mix the sound of a voice coming directly from the vocal apparatus with the sound of a voice that is reflected from the objects around you. The bottom line is that you cannot hear your true voice without recording equipment.
