Alma Deutscher, a seven-year-old British schoolgirl, is an excellent piano and violinist and is already composing operas. She does all this on such a professional level that classical music lovers compare Alma with Mozart.
The girl has her own YouTube channel, and her fans include the famous actor, television and radio host, writer Stephen Fry, who is very good at music. It was he who on his Twitter called the girl "the new Mozart."
Alma Deutscher is the daughter of scientists, her father is an amateur flutist. At the age of two, she could name all the keys on the piano. On her third birthday, Alma received a violin as a gift, and a year later the girl was playing Handel's sonatas.
In addition to the fact that Deutscher is a performer prodigy, she also turned out to be a composer. Earlier this year, Alma Deutscher wrote a short opera Dream Cleaner with lyrics by Elizabeth Edlington, which for some technical reason did not make it to the finals of the competition for young composers and performers organized by the National Opera House of Great Britain.
The girl's YouTube channel, where videos of her performance of classics and her own works are posted, has already collected 85 thousand views and about 300 subscribers.
“I want people to know how I play,” Alma told reporters, adding that when she gets older she wants to “compose like Mozart, play violin like Pearlman, and piano like Barenboim.”
The father of the prodigy girl notes that his daughter does at her age no less difficult things than Mozart. However, he prefers not to make predictions: "only the future will show."
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart began composing music at the age of five. He played his compositions to Father Leopold and he wrote them down. During his short 35-year life, the genius composer wrote over 600 works.
