Sometimes, having found another artifact of the past, scientists do not quite correctly interpret their true purpose and write them down in, for example, images of birds and animals, relying only on distant similarities. Perhaps the same fate befell the so-called Cairo bird, because it looks very much like a bird. We will talk about it in more detail today.
This artifact was found back in 1898 during the excavation of an ancient Egyptian burial, which was dated to the third century BC. Despite the rather strange shape of the "tail", the wooden model was recognized as a bird and for a long time settled in the storerooms among similar figures.
During periodic exhibitions, no one really paid close attention to the find until in 1972, when examining the figure of H. Messih, he did not pay attention to the fact that the Cairo bird more traced the features of an airplane than a feathered one.
The plane-plate is 14.2 cm long, and the wingspan is 18.3 cm. And the head really looks like a bird's, but the tail is nothing more than the keel of the plane. And wings with a body more resemble an airplane or airplane than with the wings and body of a bird.
True, this "bird" lacks stabilizers, but it was assumed that they had been trite broken off.
Based on these guesses, H. Messih recreated the model with the missing components, added a motor and radio control. And surprisingly, the "ancient bird" flew beautifully and easily performed most of the aerobatics.
Inspired by the successful experiment, Messich went to museums in order to find such artifacts, and he found quite a few of them.

But to all his official inquiries, Egyptian scientists did not give a single answer. So it is still not clear whether the ancient masters managed to create a miniature copy of airplanes by chance or three thousand years ago not only birds soared in the sky, but also airplanes, the outlines of which were conveyed by unknown masters in these figures.
