The threats to US security, as it turned out, do not come only from international terrorism and Russia. In all seriousness, the Pentagon is developing rescue measures from zombies, aliens and the Yellowstone volcano.
The zombie apocalypse
On May 13, 2014, Foreign Policy magazine published an article stating that the Pentagon has developed a strategy to protect people in the event of a zombie apocalypse. The publication refers in this case to a real document of the US Department of Defense, which is called "CONOR 8888".
Pentagon specialists have worked on the classification of zombies by type and have developed several scenarios for the development of events. Captain Pamela Koontz, spokesman for the Joint Strategic Command, confirmed the existence of this document and its seriousness.
However, according to Koontz, the document is not a specific action plan for the US Armed Forces, but only a hypothetical method for planning and working out military scenarios.

The likelihood that we are not alone in the universe is high enough. To date, scientists have discovered 561 exoplanets in 470 planetary systems. All in all, there are about 50 billion exoplanets in the Milky Way galaxy, 2 million of which are "Earthlike".
Cinema traditionally pays a lot of attention to the topic of alien invasion, but the military is not inactive either. If an invasion occurs, it is almost impossible to predict the course of events, so you need to prepare for it in advance.
Since 1971, the US has been running the SETI program, which searches for extraterrestrial civilizations. The first UFO tracking station was established in Texas a year after the launch of SETI, in 1972, under the direction of Colonel Stanford. Since that time, the Pentagon has not only been developing a strategy to repel the invasion, but has also created a truly mysterious aura around its projects, seasoned with a good deal of "rumor in the form of versions."
For example, former Pentagon and Congress consultant Timothy Goode in an interview with BBC-2 said that former US President Eisenhower met with aliens at military bases and even entered into mental conversations with them. The only way to avoid a climate catastrophe is to take control of it. The creation of climate weapons is one of the most promising areas of the Pentagon's work. The recently awakened Yellowstone volcano also causes considerable concern.
If it erupts, an ecological catastrophe will occur on Earth, comparable to a nuclear winter. Jacob Loewenstern of the Yellowstone Volcanic Observatory (USA) said that every time a volcano erupted in the past (and this was already three times), more than 1,000 km³ of magma fell outside. That's enough to cover most of North America with ash layers of varying thickness. It is also likely that the temperature on Earth will drop by 21 degrees, and the visibility will be no more than 30 cm for several years.
