On January 12, 2010, a series of powerful earthquakes shook Haiti, and most of all, the vicinity of the capital, Port-au-Prince, which was home to about a million people.

The last time an earthquake of such destructive force happened in Haiti was in 1751, so it is not surprising that no one of the inhabitants was prepared for this. More than 220 thousand people were killed, about 300 thousand were injured, and almost a thousand were missing.

When the search for people under the rubble began, the case moved very slowly, it was almost impossible to find an entire building in the city, the roads were blocked up, the water supply was disrupted. Therefore, when people finally got there, it was often too late.

The corpses were put into trucks and taken to the central hospital, but the local morgue quickly became overcrowded and the corpses were simply piled on the ground next to the morgue.

You can hardly imagine what a nightmarish reality there was. Two weeks after the earthquake, the last living person was pulled out from under the rubble, and then only corpses were taken out. Therefore, the Haitian authorities announced the end of the rescue operation. Next came the usual analysis of the rubble.

However, then a real miracle happened. 27 days after the earthquake, someone clearing rubble at a local market suddenly stumbled upon a human body covered in dust and mud. At first they considered him a corpse and even marveled that he still looks quite normal and has not begun to decompose, but then the "corpse" suddenly began to move and groaned.

The whole story that a month later (!) Found a survivor under the rubble quickly spread across all districts and got into all the world's media. No one understood how he managed to survive. When the victim was brought to the tent with doctors, it turned out that he was severely emaciated, suffering from dehydration and was in a semi-faint state.

When in the hospital he was pumped with drugs and put on a drip, the man woke up and gave his name. His name was Evan Muncie and he was 28 years old. According to the doctor, the patient was disoriented for some time and did not understand how many days had passed, but his subsequent words seemed strange even for delirium.

Mansi said that when he was lying under the rubble, squeezed from all sides, a man in white clothes came to him several times and brought him water. This is supposedly why he managed to last so long. In fact, Muncie was lying in such a place that even a small animal could not get there, it was so cramped there.

At the same time, even rainwater probably fell into this place in very small volumes, so the survival of Muncie, if you reject the version of the mysterious Guardian Angel, really looks incredible.

When the doctors examined Muncie, they were again surprised - despite exhaustion and dehydration, Muncie was in quite normal condition, he was not injured and he had no fractures. Only on his legs, which were almost motionless for 27 days, did purulent wounds develop, but they quickly responded to treatment.

Relatives of Evan Muncie have long believed him dead, he disappeared on the day of the earthquake, when, as usual, he worked in the market selling bags of rice.

Some people consider the case with Muncie unreliable, allegedly it is impossible to survive, getting into a similar situation and spending 27 days in it. According to their version, Muncie was dug up much earlier, but they were simply brought to the hospital only weeks later. True, this version has even less evidence to support it than the original story of Muncie. Another part of the people is sure that Muncie simply had hallucinations.

Unfortunately, after the articles about Mansi being found alive, journalists no longer returned to his topic and it is not known what else this man could tell.
