Perhaps, in every country in the world you can find officials who do not shy away from bribery, thus allowing themselves to live in grand style. One of the Ugandan bribe-takers decided to give it up on his own, and not to anyone, but to the Lord God himself. Fearing to end up in hell after death, an unclean civil servant found the last possible salvation for himself and decided to posthumously bribe the Creator.
The recently deceased fifty-two-year-old Charles Obong has long been mired in corruption and did not even hide his love for bribes from his compatriots. Before his death, the official ordered his relatives to bury him along with $ 5,700, intended for none other than God. The bribe-taker considered that the Creator would appreciate his material offering and send the sinner not to hell, where he undoubtedly deserved a place, but straight to heaven.
Charles suffered from an incurable disease and before his death he constantly thought about what awaits him after death. At the same time, Obong did not want to leave his "hard earned" savings to his family, including his hated wife. Therefore, the man felt that it was best to use this money to appease God. When the Ugandan departed to another world, his relatives fulfilled the last will of the deceased and placed 57 hundred dollar bills in his coffin.
Nevertheless, Joel Avio - a local clergyman - soon after the funeral found out about this act and ordered to dig up the coffin in order to extract the bills from it - these devilish pieces of paper. The cleric said that no money could buy a place in paradise, and therefore Obong's act was stupid and unacceptable. According to Avio, forgiveness from the Creator can only be earned by sincere repentance, and the deceased official is unlikely to face it, since even on his deathbed, Obong decided to use money for this purpose.
