The latest bizarre prediction of The Simpsons was discovered by the show's fan community when people discovered how accurately the show's directors predicted Greta Thunberg's climate change campaign:

Twitter says the environmental activist reminds them too much of Lisa Simpson, and the fact that this is really obvious is too much of a coincidence.

In fact, in the comments to the YouTube clip of Lisa giving an impassioned speech about climate change, everyone is writing about Greta's similar speech and a strange coincidence. And as we know, this is not the first time the show has made a prediction that has come true.

The Simpsons have predicted strange things for years. Maybe this happens because the directors and screenwriters of the cartoon have been working for a very long time and in the end have learned to predict some things correctly. Although there may be another reason for all this.

After the shock election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, we were reminded again that the authors of the cartoon seemed to see the future in a crystal ball.

In an episode aired in March 2000, Lisa becomes president. Sitting in the Oval Office, she jokes, "We inherited a fairly limited budget from President Trump."

This particular prediction did not go unnoticed as Trump's popularity skyrocketed over the past 12 months. Show writer Dan Greeney told the Hollywood Reporter:

“This was a warning to America. It seemed like a logical last stop before reaching the bottom. Although the bottom was then even broken, because it corresponded to the madness of America."

Commenting on this episode for The Guardian, Matt Groening, co-creator of the series, said:

“We predicted that Trump would be president back in 2000. Naturally, this seemed to us the most playful and comical assumption of all. But that's exactly what happened."

So the Simpsons did it again. We, of course, very much doubt that Lisa will replace Donald Trump as president of the United States, but as we learned today, in this crazy world, anything can happen.
