Recently, Western countries have started to rewrite the history of the Second World War. However, upon closer examination, it turns out that this is not entirely true.
Let me explain: in fact, there was no occupation of European countries in the classical form. All without exception, after a short resistance, they asked for surrender - and continued to live, just as they lived before the Nazis.

Since society is always not homogeneous, there were those who supported the new regime and those who tried to fight against it. But in the overwhelming majority, the population of Europe worked in their factories, read their newspapers, drank beer in their cafes and restaurants … NOTHING HAS CHANGED for them! Therefore, when now in Europe they justify Nazism, they just honestly name things the way they see them themselves - it's normal FOR THEM.
Moreover, a significant part of the foundation of their current well-being was laid just then - by working on the insatiable war machine of Germany, although it would be more correct to say the Third Reich (literally translated as the Third Empire, meaning the Holy Roman Empire), the politically correct name is the European Union.

Yes, we can say with complete confidence that life under the rule of the Nazis demanded the full exertion of the forces of the Europeans … so many orders, so much work, complex logistics for the delivery of raw materials and components for military equipment! It was not easy for them, but they coped - until 1942, Hitler had an advantage in military-industrial potential and this is a direct merit of the united Europe and the United States.

Spain, for example, bought oil from the United States and sold it to Hitler with a 100% markup. And in the United States (which was a member of the anti-Hitler coalition), they understood perfectly well for whom and why the Spaniards were buying oil from them (but after all, “money doesn't smell”?). This allowed huge interest rates for both sellers and intermediaries.
France produced engines, aviation electronics and spare parts for the Luftwaffe aviation, tanks, cars (tens of thousands), steam locomotives (5000 units!) And much more. The high degree of motorization of the Wehrmacht, known to all, was largely provided by the French. Until 1944, the repair of tanks and other military equipment was carried out by the French (pancake allies)!

Switzerland became the main global financial regulator precisely thanks to the intermediary services of Germany. Gold (looted and pulled out of teeth), currency, loans secured by material assets taken out from the conquered territories - unprecedented volumes flowing to the banks of this country made it what it is known to us now. And most importantly, most of these assets are still at the disposal of Swiss bankers!
Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark also contributed to the German war machine: ore, oil, equipment, ports and industrial facilities.
The Czech Republic produced tanks, armored personnel carriers and ammunition in huge quantities (30% of Germany's industrial potential!).

About the official allies of Germany - Hungary, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria (there was probably not a single European war, where these "brothers" did not act against us), Slovakia and Croatia, and there is nothing to talk about.
United States of America
Their role in the formation of Nazi Germany and Hitler's ability to wage war against the USSR was the most talked about. Indeed, oil, aircraft engines (up to 20% of Luftwaffe aircraft were equipped with them), tanks, armored vehicles, industrial equipment - were driven across the ocean in caravans.
What kind of Lendlease is there! Its volumes and a candle were not suitable for supplies for the needs of the Wehrmacht. Banks through intermediaries in Europe, throughout the war, lent money to Germany, in fact, financial support for military operations against the USSR.
Ford factories in France and Germany produced military vehicles ordered by the Nazis.
The second front was opened for deeply practical purposes: to protect their investments in Nazi Germany and cash in on her defeat. And the way it opened, it could close: Truman and Churchill tearfully asked Stalin to urgently launch an offensive (read - sacrifice hundreds of thousands of our soldiers) so that the Germans would not throw them back into the sea … and persuaded after all!

Mobilization
In the countries - allies of Germany, a mobilization call was simply carried out to serve in the national divisions of the Wehrmacht (this is where the experience of the formation of national battles in Ukraine comes from).
In the so-called "neutral" countries, volunteers were recruited (mainly in the SS). At the same time, it should be noted that the largest in number were the collaborationist troops from former Soviet citizens.
It is believed that Europe gave Hitler up to 2 million soldiers.

Outcome
The victory in this war was won by the coalition of the USSR, Britain, the USA and France (these traders got in advance here too - without participating directly in hostilities, working the entire war for the Wehrmacht, they managed to grab Alsace and Lorraine from the Germans).
The United States, due to military supplies to both belligerent parties, reparations, reverse Lend-Lease (Russia, as the successor of the USSR, until 2006, carried out supplies to its former allies!) And participation in the partition and rebuilding of Europe for compensation, became the dominant state in the world.
The countries of Europe, although they lost their full sovereignty (with the exception of Britain) in favor of America, "rose" great on German military orders, and even profited from the restoration of destroyed Germany. Switzerland has become a world banking center.
And only the USSR was forced only to spend and spend, return, pay and gratuitously (we are not damned capitalists - make money out of trouble!) To support the countries of Eastern Europe received during the partition (there was no sadness, but what did you get in the end?) …
In my opinion, it makes no sense to look for the "missing" gold of the Reich - it has long and safely settled in the banks of the United States and European countries, as payment for products and loans Germany needed for the war with the USSR. In this case, neither the Americans nor the Europeans should see anything very bad in Nazism, because it ensured their economic growth, with minimal human losses (and even then not for everyone, and not always on the side of the coalition).
