"Ghostly" rest

Park "Beryozovaya Roshcha" is one of the favorite recreation places for residents of the Dzerzhinsky district. Sportsmen, cyclists, children frolicking by the fountain, parents chatting on benches: it is crowded almost every day of the week. But few people know that there was once a cemetery on the site of the park. The echoes of his presence, according to old-timers, are still felt.

“I have been living near the park for 30 years,” says Anatoly Zhdanov from Novosibirsk. - Even 10 years ago, you could stumble upon scattered fragments of stone slabs here. Now you can no longer meet them, but ghosts appear in the park regularly. And this is not surprising: those who have found their last shelter here probably ask for memory and sorrow instead of noisy pleasure walks. For 30 years of living near the "Birch Grove" I have repeatedly heard the story that people saw a transparent, as if illuminated figure, neighbors too."

Another favorite vacation spot for Novosibirsk residents, Lake Chany, is also shrouded in mystery. Five years ago in the authoritative British edition of the Daily Mail an article appeared with a frightening headline: a monster lives in a large Siberian lake - a monster more terrible and dangerous than the Loch Ness. This creature is like a plesiosaur - with a long neck and toothy jaws, and supposedly it has already eaten 19 people - according to official statistics only. And the real victims, they say, even more. But the inhabitants of the villages located near the lake are sure: it is not the monster that is to blame for the deaths of people, but the carelessness of the swimmers who neglect the rules of behavior on the reservoir.

Otherworldly guests

Some Novosibirsk residents say that they meet ghosts in different parts of the city and region. One of them "registered" near the famous water tower on Karl Marx Square and even on its roof. Legend has it that a plumber once drowned here in a water tank. His body disappeared without a trace, but, according to the stories, the spirit still wanders nearby, "armed" with the wrench that was with him at the time of death.

By the way, this is not the only ghost with an inventory. Until recently, there was a blue wooden house on Chaplygin Street, where for some time there was a vendispensary. They say that when the house was being dismantled, the workers discovered a bundle of tsarist bank notes that once belonged to a Novonikolaevsky doctor. He became famous for killing two patients by injecting a potent drug into their necks and pushing them down stairs to fake an accident. The doctor was arrested after the second murder. His ghost with a syringe in his hand was allegedly seen by doctors working in the vendispensary.

There are mysterious roads in the Novosibirsk region. Crosses and wreaths tied everywhere are dotted along their roadsides: road accidents are frighteningly frequent here, even though there are no obvious reasons for this. One of such sections is in the region of the 28th kilometer of the Novosibirsk - Kolyvan highway.

“This is a very scary place,” says Dmitry Lokshin from Novosibirsk. - The asphalt is flat, there are no warning signs about the emergency section, as well as sharp dangerous turns. But last summer, this road played a cruel joke on me. I was returning to Novosibirsk along the highway and at the 28th kilometer suddenly realized that the car was not listening to me. The steering and brakes failed, none of my actions could affect the uncontrolled behavior of the car. Cars were driving towards me, I closed my eyes and squeezed into the seat: this is the only thing left for me. Opening my eyes, I saw a tree just a few centimeters from my face. I was lucky. What it was, I still do not know, but since then I have never ridden on that mystical road."

And on the highway "Novosibirsk - Iskitim", the drivers talk, there is a ghost car. On the Web, you can find more than a dozen stories of Novosibirsk people who claim: translucent Zhiguli are driving along the road, and nobody is driving them. If you believe the stories, such a participant in the movement often becomes the culprit of serious accidents.

And this is only a part of the fairly well-known, "replicated" stories. Surely every citizen of Novosibirsk can tell at least a couple more - those that happened to his friends. Believe in such stories or not - everyone's business, but it can hardly be ruled out that, along with the "horror stories" in this list, there are stories that have very truthful justification.
