A similar picture is observed not only on the Zigalga ridge. Another very popular mountain Iremel, which is the second highest in the Southern Urals after Yaman-Tau, is located 32 km from Mount Bolshoi Shelom.

Iremel itself and all its slopes are completely strewn with kurums, which look exactly the same as on Zygalga.

This is how the ascent to Iremel looks like.

Promotional video:

The size of the stones, the presence of sharp edges, the level of overgrowth with lichen, almost exactly repeat what we saw on Zygalga. Pay attention to the last shot, where the entire slope, which we see in the background, is covered with the same rocks that we see in the foreground. How did this amount of broken stone come about? Indeed, here, as in the case of Zygalga and Bolshoi Shelom, the height and steepness of the slopes does not allow stone avalanches to descend, which could have impaled it.

Moreover, we do not see towering rocks, from which, under the influence of wind, water and temperature, any parts, no matter how large or small, could break off. Climbing to the top, you will see only small remnants of rocks, which are all covered with cracks, as if someone had hit them with a giant hammer. The first three photos show very clearly that the layers in the rocks are inclined, as if someone hit the mountain hard from the side. And it is on that side that Mount Bolshoi Shelom is located, above which was the epicenter of the explosion. What we are seeing is the aftermath of a powerful shock wave that came from just that direction.

As I already said, if you decide to climb Iremel, then with a very high probability you will be able to find stones along the way, the surface of which looks like old washboards. This is not difficult to do, since there are a lot of such stones on the Iremel slope.

Directly next to Iremel there is a place where the consequences of the arrival of a powerful shock wave from the direction of Bolshoi Shelom are very clearly visible. It is a small, gentle slope that adjoins the valley where most tourists like to get up for the night. To be honest, when we went to Iremel in 2010, none of us had any idea what we actually see, but even then it was obvious that this was something very unusual. The fact is that from all this slope, like porcupine needles, small and large stones stick out. At the same time, some of them, as in the next two photos, are from the same slope, but some force raised them almost vertically.

And there are many such strange rocky outcrops on this slope. Here's another one.

But in addition to large stones, there are also a lot of medium and small stones on this slope, and some of them, as we found out, are not from this slope, since they are stuck into the ground like a knife in butter. But then we still could not explain what kind of power could do it.

This picture clearly shows that the layers of all stones are located at different angles. That is, this is clearly not their natural position. But, since we are practically at the top of the slope, these stones also have nowhere to fall. That is, there are no natural reasons that could force them to accept such a position.

And this is one of the stuck stones that flew here. He's not from this slope. Please note that the stone to the left of it lies quite horizontally, and does not stick out parallel to the stuck one. We examined several such stones, they are exactly stuck in the ground.

At the same time, I would like to draw your attention once again to the fact that the angles of these protruding stones are different, which means that they could not have formed from the layers of granite, which is located at the base of this slope. Otherwise, they would all stick out at the same angle corresponding to the angle of inclination of the layered structure of the mineral.

The sun sets directly over Mount Bolshoi Shelom. It is possible that the outbreak of a thermonuclear explosion two hundred years ago looked about the same from this place. I brought this photo so that it was clear that from the slope on which we observe the reared and stuck stones, there was a direct line of sight to the epicenter of the explosion. And those stones that are stuck into the slope were most likely brought by a shock wave from the slope that turns black directly in front of us, the distance to it is about one and a half kilometers.

Moreover, this happened not very long ago, because sharp edges are clearly visible on all these reared and stuck stones. In order for uninformed people to understand how stones and mountains should look like, which have long been exposed to wind, water and temperature changes, there are a few more pictures in which this is clearly visible.

This is what old rocks and stones should look like, which have no sharp edges. They are all smoothed by wind and water. Agree that this is very different from what we saw on Zigalga and in the vicinity of Iremel.

I have described this place in detail, since I myself have been there many times. But similar kurums, moreover, kurmas are young, with stones having sharp edges, are found everywhere in the Urals. There are similar placers in the Zlatoust region in the Taganay National Park. A cut off flat top near the highest mountain in the Southern Urals - Yaman-Tau, the surroundings of which are also strewn with a broken canal, similar to that observed on the Zigalga. There are many similar placers in both the Middle and Northern Urals. This means that the explosion over Bolshoi Shelom was not the only thing. The Ural mountains were mercilessly bombed in many places, and there are actually many traces of this, you just need to understand what to look for, since the round craters that appear on the plains are not formed in the mountains due to the very rugged relief, which greatly distorts the shock wave. But the recently impaled stone in gigantic quantities and the rocks destroyed by the explosions cannot be hidden anywhere.

This is the last part in which I present the collected facts about the catastrophe that led to the death of a huge empire, indicated on old maps as Tartary. In the next, final part, I will try to draw a general conclusion and present my vision of those events, their causes, customers and performers.
