The UK Crop Circle was stunned to hear of the deaths of two of its prominent researchers, literally 2 hours apart

Dorset researcher and conference organizer David Kingston passed away last week after battling cancer for a year. Meanwhile, the body of another circle explorer, Paul Vigay, was found on the Hampshire coast in Southsea.

Kingston was an excellent specialist in UFO circles and fields, running one of the largest related websites and hosting an annual conference in Dorchester.

The 70-year-old researcher became interested in UFO research in 1976 and began exploring circles in the late 1980s. The Dorchester conferences began in the mid-1990s, after he began lecturing on UFOs, circles, and conspiracy theories.

Conferences scheduled for this spring and summer were canceled when Kingston's health deteriorated.

Paul Wigay was a mathematician and computer expert who became one of the leading researchers in the UK. His body was found ashore in Southsea, near Portsmouth, last Thursday - police say the circumstances surrounding his death are not suspicious. (Why did he die then, and what was the cause of death?)

Wigay, 44, was famous in the Wiltshire area and is known among researchers as an expert at deciphering hidden meanings in patterns of circles.

“Paul was one of the brightest stars in the cropcycle universe,” said circle photographer and explorer Lucy Pringle. “A talented mathematician, computer technician and manufacturer of electronic devices, he was one of the first to explore the crop circle phenomenon in the early 1990s, where his talents were quickly recognized.

He had an exceptional gift for research and often led the field in deciphering mathematical aspects found in certain crop circles. He was surprisingly eloquent and had the rare ability to explain technical details in the simplest language. He has made a major contribution to the subject and his place will not be easily filled, she added.

Vigaya's friend, 39-year-old Claire Diestler from Bedhampton, said she visited him last Tuesday.

She said: "He was completely healthy, which is why I am so shocked by what happened. There was absolutely no sign or hint of illness. He was really interested in UFOs and anything unusual like crop circles."
