In turn, a member of the board of the Dyatlov Group Memory Fund, academician Pyotr Bartolomey, said that the prosecutor's office in its investigation discredited the role of witnesses who participated in the search work.
So, according to him, the key witness in the case should have been the former Deputy Investigation Department for the Sverdlovsk Region, Yevgeny Okishev, and the investigator Lev Ivanov, who in 1959 took up the investigation. Both of them initially spoke of a man-made disaster as the reason for the escape of the Dyatlovites from the tents.

According to the department, there are enough documents in a criminal case to answer the question of what happened in 1959 at the Dyatlov pass.
