The skeleton of a dinosaur-like creature found in the Vakhsh valley has caused heated discussions among local archaeologists.
Oliya Nabieva, head of the Bibikhonum Museum of Local Lore in Kurgan-Tyube, says the bones of a dinosaur that has just hatched from an egg have been found under the foundations of an old building in the Bokhtar District. Nabieva says that these are the bones of an animal that currently does not exist in nature.
“Of course, now there are no such animals. We ourselves are surprised how the skeleton has survived to our time, so we treat it very carefully. The dinosaur skeleton has the same structure and structure of the ancient dinosaurs. We hope that the research of scientists will confirm our assumptions."
The owners of the find said that when they were demolishing the great-grandfather's building, they found seven dried eggs and this skeleton. According to the man who found the "dinosaur", his father did not allow the old house to be destroyed until the end of his days, and did not explain the reasons for his ban.
The museum keeps the name of the owner of the find and the exact place where the remains were found a secret.
Since there is no special archaeological center and experts in this area in the Khatlon region, we turned to the specialists of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan with a request to investigate the find. Research is expected to continue for three months.
However, the historian and expert in the field of museums Safarmo Yatimova, taking into account the peculiarities of the climate of the Vakhsh valley, says that the presence of dinosaurs in this area is not possible.
“Now it is difficult to say that the Vakhsh valley was under water several million years ago. Our findings from ancient times indicate that the valley was under water, and dinosaurs did not live under water,”S. Yatimova is sure.
