Art critics consider the Dutch artist Arent de Gelder (Aert de Gelder; 1645-1727) to be among the last pupils of Rembrandt. In the manner of his great teacher, he painted mainly portraits, as well as paintings on historical and religious subjects. In 1710, the painter painted the painting The Baptism of Christ, which is currently on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. From a mysterious disc-shaped object in the heavens streams of bright rays pour directly onto the heads of the kneeling Jesus Christ and John the Baptist.

The painting "Annunciation with Saint Emidio" (Annunciazione con sant'Emidio or L'Annunciazione di Ascoli), which has been in the London National Gallery since 1864, was painted by the Venetian painter Carlo Crivelli (1430-1495) in 1486. The artist spent most of his life, in particular, in the city of Ascoli Piceno, whose patron Saint Emidius was considered. The canvas measuring 207 by 146 centimeters was intended for the altar of the Church of the Annunciation (Santissima Annunziata), which belongs to the Franciscan order. The picture is saturated with the symbolism of that time, but the Holy Spirit is perceived by our contemporaries as a UFO. The beam emanating from it is directed directly at the head of the Virgin Mary.

The painting by one of the leading Florentine artists Quattrocento Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494) above the shoulder of the Virgin Mary depicts a strange flying object, reminiscent of an Indian vimana or UFO "saucer", which is closely watched by a man and a dog sitting at his feet. This work of art from the 15th century can be seen in the Florentine Palazzo Vecchio, and it is called "Madonna and Child of St. Giovannino" (La Madonna con Bambino e San Giovannino).

This tapestry, called "Magnificat" (after the first word of the first verse of "Magnificat anima mea Dominum" - "My soul magnifies the Lord", which is the glorification of the Virgin Mary from the Gospel of Luke in Latin translation) depicts the life of the Virgin. In the background, a hat-like object is visible in the distance. The tapestry hangs in the Notre Dame (Notre Dame) Basilica in the French city of Beaune, Burgundy.
