In addition to statistics related to the Vietnam and Korean War, the CIA has published declassified UFO documents. They stored dozens of letters and messages about people who encountered unknown mysterious objects in America and other countries of the world.

Almost 60% of all documents were issued in the period from 1960 to 1970. There is an interesting pattern here. During this time, the US government launched the Blue Book program. She had two goals:
• Scientific analysis of messages related to mysterious objects;
• Determination of the status of UFOs (whether they can be considered a threat to the national security of the country).

American intelligence agencies regularly post archival documentation. For example, in 2016 declassified CIA materials about UFOs, eyewitness videos and their testimony appeared on the network. The materials concerned the study of mysterious objects noticed near uranium mines (Africa). They caused a serious stir among ufologists. The CIA published reports on meetings of various commissions and detailed instructions on how the observation of unidentified flying objects took place.
But they failed to impress the skeptics. The latter found a successful marketing ploy here. The fact is that the publication of the documents took place two weeks before the release of the tenth season of the popular television series The X-Files. They undoubtedly piqued public interest. The series has received impressive ratings, and skeptics have raised doubts about the documents' reliability.

UFO studies are not the only topic of interest to fans of mysticism. According to the documents, in the 70s of the XX century, the CIA seriously studied human paranormal abilities. Intelligence officers were involved in the Stargate program. Her task was to study people with telepathic abilities. It was believed that they could be used for reconnaissance, transmitting data, or influencing enemy soldiers.
The main test subject was Uri Geller. The CIA was seriously studying the Israeli magician. From 1970 to 1980, he regularly hosted shows in various countries around the world. His favorite trick is bending a metal spoon with his mind. The magician convinced the audience that he possessed supernatural powers. It is not surprising that the American intelligence services were interested in him. They were going to use Uri as a remote observation specialist. As conceived by the CIA, he could spy on secret objects or transmit secret information using his telepathic abilities.

Experiments involving Geller took place at the base of the American intelligence agency in August 1973. If the documents are to be believed, the Israeli magician convinced the experts of his abilities that were not typical of ordinary people.
But it remains unknown how the further cooperation between Geller and the CIA developed, and how the Stargate project ended. Published documents do not provide answers. But there is an opinion that the program was curtailed in 1995. The reason is trivial - the lack of required results.

The CIA's declassified UFO material has generated much controversy. Some gladly studied the documents, while others questioned their authenticity in every possible way. Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov did not stand aside and got acquainted with the published information. But he does not advise believing in her, calling all this "complete nonsense."
“This is all nonsense. I have never encountered UFOs and other paranormal phenomena. I have no doubt that this is nonsense for the yellow press. How can the CIA be called an honest organization?
