The Chelyabinsk meteorite fell to Earth on February 15, 2013 and its fall was accompanied by a series of explosions upon entering the dense layers of the atmosphere. Scientists examining the debris of the meteorite stated that it fell to Earth after colliding with another cosmic body.

On the found remnants of the meteorite, traces of melting were found, which was caused by intense heating. This process took place even before the meteorite entered the Earth's atmosphere.

The unusual form of melting of the remnants does not correspond at all to the effect of the Earth's atmosphere; this form can only be explained by a previous collision with another cosmic body or a very close passage next to it. Moreover, the melting is so significant that it can be explained even by the influence of the Sun, which means that the asteroid flew in the immediate vicinity of our star.

In addition, scientists found platinum group elements in the meteorite, in the form of an alloy of osmium, iridium and platinum, which has not yet been found in such objects. These traces are evidence that the Chelyabinsk meteorite collided in space with another space object.
