Many people remember about Brest only by its fortress, which held back the onslaught of the Nazis for several months during the war. But there are mysterious phenomena in the Brest region, such as UFO sightings or meetings of people with lake monsters.

Some luminous objects of various shapes often fly over Polesie. Now these are red balls, then orange or pink "plates". It happens that drivers on the roads drive at night over the area illuminated by something from the sky. And in private houses, their inhabitants sometimes encounter ghosts. Some of the people report that unknown entities attack him, asleep, at night, biting.

In ancient times, Slavic tribes lived on the territory of the Brest region. Now it has 16 districts. A fifth of the population of Belarus lives there. There are lakes and ponds in the area. One of the largest reservoirs (Lake Chernoy) has very clean water. The depth there does not exceed seven meters. There is a belief among local residents that a strange creature swims in the lake, rarely seen by people. And on the much deeper Sominskoye lake, fishermen talk about the local "nessi", a monster splashing at night and scaring fish away.

There are 6 artificial reservoirs in the Brest region. Of these, Loktyshi is quite large in area - almost 16 sq. km. Carp and other valuable fish are found in 118 ponds. Silver carp is among them. All artificial reservoirs of the Brest region were created mainly for fish farming and irrigation of agricultural lands.

In the last century, UFOs often appeared in the area of Belovezhskaya Pushcha, once a "flock" of them flew over a military air defense base near Baranovichi at an altitude of 20 km. It happened in 1961. Then the old missiles were just being replaced with new weapons; in the same year Powers was shot down over the Urals. But the UFO was not hit with rockets - the electronics were out of order. And the discs in a victorious formation left the sky region above the military unit.

A similar case took place in the Pruzhany region. Military radar spotted seven UFOs at an altitude of 27 km. The radar company raised the alarm then in 1978. And the military pilot Nesterenko in the sky near Baranovichi at 22 o'clock discovered an unidentified target with three flashing side beacons at an altitude of 4 km. Having brought the plane to the UFO at a distance of half a kilometer, the pilot made out the silhouette of a target that did not respond to the request "friend or foe", but did not attack it. Other pilots who met in the sky with incomprehensible light lenticular objects reported about a similar thing.

Rumor has it that once a UFO crashed in the Brest region and fell to the ground. Secretly, this alien probe was delivered directly to Moscow in 1945. But that's not all, the locals talk about meeting with aliens.

Ufologists once visited the Ivatsevichi region, where an inexplicable phenomenon happened - a UFO landed late in the evening, frightening a local resident heading home from the farm. It was 1992. The woman was scared for her house and the hay near it, as a luminous ball descended from the sky, intending to set them on fire.

In the Pinsk region, on the eve of Old New 1990, “guests” - a couple of aliens - came to a local resident's house. The aliens moved sideways and were silent. In bright phosphorescent jumpsuits, these creatures had no neck and wedge-shaped chins. The aliens emitted rays of light from their eyes. The owner was not taken aback and invited the guests to drink vodka, pouring alcohol into glasses. But he lost consciousness, and, waking up, found himself hanging in the air in his room. The newcomers were gone. The man later told this story to ufologists.

One can believe or not all the sometimes incredible stories of Belarusians, but cases of this kind have been observed in other places of the republic as well. And all radar detections of unidentified strange objects in the sky were recorded in military documents; not all of them have been declassified yet.
