On the night of October 2, people saw a mysterious radiance, the nature of which science cannot yet explain.
An astronomy lover from the Baltic states photographed a natural phenomenon that did not exist two years ago. It's called STEVE, but nobody knows what it is. The most striking thing is that these phantoms are gaining strength: six months ago they were only photographed, they were not noticed with the eye. Now the STEVES are bright and catchy. It seems that a person has "broken" something global in the vicinity of the Earth, he himself does not understand that - and the end of the world, quite possibly, will pass to the accompaniment of delightful heavenly lights.
Vitaly Kopa from Riga took a stunning photo on Wednesday night, October 2. The photo shows a luminous "fox tail", which rises from the horizon and tends to the zenith. The phenomenon was perfectly observed with a simple eye, writes Kopa, the glow did not pulsate, and only after forty minutes it began to disappear.
It all started in 2017, when Chris Ratzlaff, an astronomy lover from Canada, was filming an aurora for himself, and suddenly noticed something that, of course, there was no aurora. Social networks quickly spread photographs around the world, and they were taken up by Canadian researcher Eric Donovan. He picked up data from the Swarm satellite, and realized that at the same time the satellite saw a ribbon of hot gas that appeared from nowhere in our atmosphere. This ribbon hung at a colossal height of 300 kilometers (for example, the ISS flies there), its length was thousands of kilometers, the temperature was almost three thousand degrees, and this ribbon was just hanging, almost not moving. Eric realized that this had never happened before.
When Chris found out that he had discovered something new, he decided to use his right and give the phenomenon a name. Steve is a meme from his favorite cartoon "The Woodsmen". In the cartoon, the heroes, when they encounter a monster, call him Steve. The name stuck because NASA noticed: the letters make a meaningful phrase "Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement" (Strong fast hot emission "). Okay, they came up with a name, but what is it?
Naturally, scientists began to look for whether this had happened before, and seemed to be "found". The STEVES were allegedly seen back in 1705, but thought it was part of the normal aurora. It is understandable why people spend so much energy to introduce the STEVES into the familiar picture of the world. If, in fact, something appeared next to us that did not exist before, this is a sentry guard and something urgently needs to be done. And so - nothing special happens like. But the evidence that the STEVES have always been so shaky. Most likely, the truth is harsher: it really is some kind of new "inflammation" in the Earth's atmosphere. Just a few considerations: if STEVES were mistaken for the aurora, how could they be so mistaken, because the aurora is seen in the north, and the STEVs are everywhere. Further, the STEVES are clearly seasonal, they did not exist, for example, from October 2017 to February 2018, and the auroras do not have such seasonality. It is difficult to confuse, and, most importantly, the STEVES are growing before our eyes. The phenomenon is developing.
Only in May, American researchers tried to put forward a more or less acceptable hypothesis of what it is. In September, another group of scientists supplemented their data. In short: Glow is produced when electrons, protons, and other particles0 heat up in the uppermost layers of the atmosphere. But the mechanism of this warming up is still unclear, and this is the most important thing. The aurora glows from the same particles, but the glow has a completely different nature. There, due to the effects of high energies, electrons begin to bounce back and forth in atomic orbits, emitting clear, sharply defined wavelengths. Steve's glow is like from an incandescent light bulb or a stove, continuous, that is, it's just heat, heating. Don Hampton from the University of Alaska admits: no one knows what this heat is, and now we need to study how it affects humanity.
This is very reminiscent of the rays of heat from the novel "The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin". Or maybe, in fact, the American military is mischievous? Remember: STEVE was first spotted in Canada, near Alaska. And in Alaska, there is the famous secret HAAPR complex, allegedly built at the time when the great Nikola Tesla disappeared from the public eye and worked at a closed military base. The purpose of the complex is known, and it is … heating the upper atmosphere with microwave radiation. Everything was conceived for the sake of climate weapons. Tesla himself wrote: when he realized that it was possible to cause a tsunami and a hurricane anywhere, it became scary.

But since 2017, as we have already said, the STEVs are becoming brighter and they see them where they have never seen them before - at least in the Baltics. Military toys have escaped from the power of the owners? A little searching on the net, and we find an article in a local, Alaskan newspaper dated February 22, 2017: "The military will heat the sky over the state, it will be picturesque." It follows from the article that the experiments were closed for some time ago, because none of them worked (although many are sure that it was HAARP that provoked the earthquake in Haiti in 2010), but now the experiments are being resumed. "The beauty of HAARP is that it is a way to turn the ionosphere into a plasma laboratory," a US Department of Energy spokesman said. Perhaps, then, two years ago, they "turned" well. And now they don't know what to do with it.
