There are stones in Romania that can "grow" and "move". It seems that this is not possible, however, the Trovants, as they are called, have puzzled scientists and researchers for several years now.
No one fully understands how these stones can grow and move, and why some of them have roots or age rings like trees. And yet there is a question, are the trovants rocks or living beings?
These objects are located near the small Romanian village of Kostesti. In Romanian, the word trovant means cement. The term was coined by the Romanian naturalist G. Kh. Murgoci in his work "The Tertiary Period of Oltenia".
According to experts, mysterious rocks can grow from a few millimeters to 10 meters. They grow especially after rain. These strange stones manage to obtain various minerals from water droplets that contribute to their growth. In addition, scientists have discovered that stones are able to move from one place to another.
It was also found that the trowans are composed of a hard stone core, and their outer part is made of sand, which over time accumulates around the stone and hardens.
