“We felt the walls and shop windows vibrate. We had few buyers, we thought that someone had crashed into the window on a bus,”Olga, a resident of Perm, told RBC, according to whom the first cotton found her in the store.
Local resident Denis Holstein told RBC that he heard two claps - stronger and weaker. “The first pop was like an explosion: even the wall shook with the window,” he said.
Another local resident, Aleksey Ushakov, told RBC that he felt a blast wave. “The garage door shook so hard, I even thought that someone had crashed. I went outside to look, and there was no one there. Then I realized that there was a shock wave, but from what it is not clear,”he said.
According to Yana Solyakova, the sounds resembled loud shots from a gun.

Another eyewitness says that most of all what was happening was like a meteorite falling, but nothing was visible in the sky due to the strong cloud cover.
The headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Perm Territory confirmed that residents of Perm inform their dispatchers about a "short-term sound phenomenon."
“According to operational data, no emergency situations were registered at any of the enterprises in Perm and the Perm Territory. According to the unified dispatching services of the Perm Territory, no emergency situations have been registered in the regions of the Territory, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The Ministry of Territorial Security of the Perm Territory reported that the cotton in the sky over Perm occurred at 15:15, after which numerous calls from residents began to arrive.
"Specialists of the operational services check the messages received from residents and establish the sources of cotton," the ministry said in a statement. It also notes that no accidents and accidents have been registered at the enterprises of the Perm Territory, they all work in a normal mode.
