"Psi Phenomenon" - this is how the extraordinary abilities of the psychic woman Ninel Kulagina were called. Unique footage of the film, which was never filmed by filmmaker Grigory Vinnitsky, tells about this

In 1968-1969, Grigory Vinitsky, together with the film crew, managed to film experiments with Ninel Kulagina. Then Grigory was a student at VGIK, and this work was held as a student material. Then the showing of the footage was banned in the Soviet Union, but they were still saved and miraculously found their way to the West, where they were shown in cinemas along with films about parapsychology.

The film "Psi Phenomenon" was never allowed to be made for a wide screening in the Soviet Union (or rather, it was allowed, but as classified material).

G. Vinitsky showed us the saved film at the beginning of December 2007. in the Jerusalem Gallery and told her "criminal" story for those times.

Grigory Vinnitsky is the author of 16 films, three of them received gold medals, and four were banned from showing in the Soviet Union, he managed to take one of the copies of these filming to Israel.

Question: - Grigory, why did you decide to show to the general public these, already, you can call them that, old footage?

Answer: - Just by accident. I liked the people and the place (art gallery of Marina and Anatoly Shelest in Jerusalem), so I decided, why not show it?

Parapsychology was a taboo topic for discussion or coverage in the USSR. To the obvious, supernatural abilities that N. Kulagina possessed, pundits reacted (if you can call it a reaction) with silence. The mother of three sons, the wife of a communist, herself a war veteran, severely wounded, awarded orders and medals, all these regalia could not protect her from the attacks and accusations of slander and trickery to which she was subjected.

And only in 1989, a year before the death of N. Kulagina, the court recognized her abilities and ruled: “The truth of the facts is confirmed. The business of science is to explain these facts."

Some scientists of the Soviet era, among them the biologist Naumov, who has known N. Kulagina since 1967, nevertheless unofficially conducted studies of these amazing abilities of the human body.

At his invitation, G. Vinitsky with a film crew, filmed one of the experiments with N. Kulagina, later on, 2 more experiments were filmed with a physicist, later a genius of military psychotronics, Doctor of Science Gennady Aleksandrovich Sergeev. An extraordinary woman never gave up experimenting on her phenomenal abilities, although it cost her the loss of health and life (born in 1926, died at the age of 65, in 1990).

In their observations, scientists came to the conclusion that sometimes parapsychological abilities in people are manifested after trauma, stress, electric shock, which confirms the presence of an internal potential hidden in the human body, in excess of natural abilities, and, probably, available, but hidden, in each person …

In 1964, N. Kulagina underwent a serious operation and, while undergoing rehabilitation treatment with the psychotherapist Belyaev, she burned herself with her own hands. Belyaev told Professor Feinberg about her extraordinary abilities, and he told Professor Vasiliev of Leningrad University, who was seriously engaged in research in the field of parapsychology. Here is an excerpt from the publication of those times:

“In January 1964. in Leningrad, a conference of doctors and scientists was held, at which a message about the parapsychological gift of Ninela Kulagina was first heard. On that day, in the small hall where the conference was held, the apple had nowhere to fall. The meeting was opened by prof. Vasiliev. Everyone was waiting for Kulagina's experiments. And she demonstrated them. “We were present at a real scientific event,” Professor Vasiliev said in conclusion. He admitted that in 30 years of work in the field of parapsychology, he had not seen anything like it."

Kulagina herself regulated her pulse rate, moved small objects with her gaze, rotated the compass needle, guessed the numbers placed behind her back, and burned her hands. (The list is far from complete).

In 1988, during the beginning of perestroika, TV channels began broadcasting films on "abnormal" topics, millions of people became convinced that telekinesis was real.

Experiments carried out with N. Kulagina recorded ultrasonic pulses (clicks) and a strong field emanating from her hands. Scientists of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR calculated the results of the experiments and concluded that N. Kulagina's hands create a charged aerosol that is sprayed out of the sweat glands. The hand carried a charge of the opposite sign. The movement of the object was coordinated with electrostatics. The charged aerosol created glowing effects, scattering of the laser beam, clicks, burns on the skin, but what exactly caused this charge, and how the aerosol was created, remained a mystery.

The experimental physicist Gulyaev came up with the idea to listen to the impulses from the hands of Kulagina. He heard random clicks from the hands put to his ear, and the more K. strained, the more often she clicked (the clicks did not cause the scientist any harm). It was hard to believe in the human ability to emit acoustic impulses.

G. Vinitsky in his story also noted that it was difficult for the film crew to believe their eyes, observing the phenomenon of N. Kalugina.

She tensed a lot during the experiments, her pressure jumped incredibly high. She needed to concentrate as much as possible. She focused her mind.

With the discovery of the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics, human consciousness was recognized as capable of playing an objective role in all kinds of such manifestations, as an active and essential factor. The scientists' view of consciousness as something imperceptible, intangible, immaterial did not allow them to touch its study.

From the Cognition website:

“According to Everett's hypothesis, although all natural phenomena are strictly determined, with each random quantum event, the world splits, as if it branches, and in fact we live in one of the countless parallel worlds that differ from each other in only one detail. Then any so-called paranormal phenomenon (telepathy, telekinesis, etc.) will mean not a violation of the laws of nature, but only that you have passed from one parallel world to another."

"Phenomenon K.", so, after the death of Ninel Kulagina, they renamed the "Phenomenon of Psi" - this is a physical reality, which they tried to slander and keep silent. Thanks to the courage and honesty of people who sacrificed their seeming material Soviet prosperity, but did not falsify the events, we are given the opportunity today to learn about these facts.
