About two million years ago, an incident occurred in the history of our planet, which, according to some scientists, could serve as the appearance of cancer in human ancestors. The reason is the explosion of two supernovae, radiation from which reached the Earth and adversely affected the health of primitive people.
In those days, Homo erectus (Homo erectus) was actively developing on the planet, it was a species that began to walk on two legs and make the first most primitive tools of labor. Supernovae, according to scientists, exploded at a distance of several hundred light-years from Earth, it was far enough not to destroy all life on the planet, but close enough to reward the Earth with a portion of isotopes of radioactive iron-60. Primitive people who witnessed this cosmic phenomenon could observe a very bright object, eclipsing all other luminaries, thereby disrupting the cycle of daylight hours for many years.
According to studies, these explosions served to ensure that the background radiation on Earth was three times higher than normal. It is believed that this could cause cancer in primitive man, from which a large number of people suffer to this day. However, according to some experts, such a statement is very controversial, since today in some places on the planet radiation pollution is 20 times higher than the accepted norm, and cosmonauts who have been on the ISS for a long time receive a thirtyfold portion of radiation at all.
