Another proof was found that the Americans did not fly to the moon. At least they never had any moon rocks, although NASA and the US government were very proud of these artifacts and generously gave them away to the right and left. Actually, one of these presents gave out another hoax of the United States.
The Dutch scientists decided to carefully study the "moonstone" donated to the country by America and kept in the Amsterdam art museum "Rijksmuseum". After analyzing the alleged rock from Selene, experts were incredibly amazed: the artifact turned out to be a piece of the most ordinary petrified wood. The Americans, apparently, had no idea that it would occur to someone to investigate their gift.
This "moonstone" was presented on October 9, 1969 to the Dutch Prime Minister Willem Dres by the then American Ambassador William Middendorf. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins, who allegedly landed on the moon in July of the same year, came to the Netherlands as guests.
When Willem Dres passed away in 1988, the "moonstone" given to him, insured, among other things, for half a million dollars, was transferred to the Rijksmuseum art museum in Amsterdam. Now it became known that the "jewel", standing on a par with the paintings of Rembrandt, turned out to be an artless fake, not worth a penny. Of course, local scientists easily determined that this is not a moonstone, but just a tree.
Museum staff say that they will continue to keep the gift from the Americans, but now it will symbolize not the space breakthrough of the Stars and Stripes, but her hypocrisy and deceit. William Middendorf, who is still alive, turned out to be offended by such news, and, of course, it was not the Dutch who made him angry, but the government of his native country. The ambassador, who received this item at the US State Department, was convinced that he had presented a real moonstone to the Dutch prime minister almost half a century ago.
The authors of this discovery report that the fake could have been suspected back in 1969: the Americans would not have given away valuable artifacts delivered from a natural satellite to the world just three months after the flight to the moon. By the way, we note that there were a lot of such gifts from “generous Americans”, then they all mysteriously disappeared from museums, depositories and even from private collections, disappeared as soon as scientists from all over the world started talking about fakes …
