Calgary is located in the Canadian province of Alberta. With a population of over a million, Calgary combines cultural traditions with beautiful natural surroundings. Once there was a school here, which became the site of a tragic event from which local residents will never recover. Subsequently, what was once a safe institution for children will be called the "Devil's Playground."
According to local legend, the school was destroyed by a mysterious fire that literally "blew up" the building in the summer of the fifties of the 20th century. There were human casualties, despite the fact that the tragedy broke out during the summer holidays. Some sources claim that only one student managed to escape from the hellfire, and all the rest died in the fire. It is reported that three teenagers attending summer classes died as they gathered together in the basement. If anything, the lives of the children were lost and the school was no longer working.
Three versions of what happened
No one seems to know for sure how the fire started. One frequently cited detail is that a bum passing by spilled booze near the school, then lit a match to light a cigarette, and casually threw it behind him as he exited the school grounds. However, there are doubts on this score. Why would someone who is not directly related to the school (not the student, not the teacher, not the parent of the student) commit such an unprovoked act of malicious intent? This is still unknown.
Another theory is that a nun who worked as a director at the academy turned her back on her faith, choosing instead to become a servant of Satan. She is believed to have set fire to the school to prove her loyalty to the ruler of the underworld; the teenagers who died in the fire were just sacrificial lambs in a deal she arranged.
Another theory that takes place in this tragedy is that the headmistress had a young lover who practiced black magic. It was under his leadership that she committed a dastardly act to get the devil's favor for sacrificing at school.

Ghosts remind of tragedy
The ruins left over from the burned down school have received a bad name. Passers-by claimed that they could sometimes hear the screams and blood-curdling groans of children, who were trapped in the basement when the flames engulfed the building on cloudy weather. The pungent smell of smoke is said to sometimes rise from the remains of the foundation, forcing anyone in the vicinity to cover their nose and mouth as they left the area.
Citizens living in the immediate vicinity of the school reported that children's handprints were periodically visible on the windshields of their cars. It looked like some child was trying to get their attention. At the same time, no children were nearby.
The sounds of children's laughter could also be heard from the empty territory that was once a school playground. They say these are the voices of the spirits who visit the place where their lives ended on that fateful summer day.
Technique in an abnormal location does not work
Over the years, several attempts have been made to dismantle the remains of the foundation, thereby ending the rumors of ghosts once and for all. However, every time machines were used to demolish what was left of the building, the efforts of the workers were thwarted.
Bulldozers and other equipment that were in perfect working order would suddenly shut down for no apparent reason. No matter how hard they tried, the workers could not get their machines to work on the ruins of the school. The bulldozer motors just stalled! Only after they were returned outside the ruins did the machines start working normally again. Something was clearly interfering with digging up the last remnants of the school.
The owner of the land on which the school once stood received complaints from local residents about numerous homeless people and people of strange behavior who regularly arranged disgraceful things in the ruins of the school. These people made noise at night, and created numerous troubles for the surrounding citizens. They broke law and order, and were much more terrifying than any ghosts or goblins! The owner was determined to get rid of the unfortunate conflagration so that the land could be reclaimed regardless of whether the spirits were there or not.
After several unsuccessful attempts to demolish the ruins, this task was finally completed in 2017. Only then the Devil's playground, which by that time had become a local landmark, was forever closed to the outside world.
No anomalies have been noted since the removal of the last blocks of the foundation. Perhaps the aura of this ominous place began to improve when the last remnants of the object were demolished and buried, allowing the ghosts of the dead to finally find peace and quiet.
