This urban legend in China goes by different names "The Last Run of Bus 375", "Midnight Bus 375" or "Bus to Xiangshan Park". It is based, as they say, on a completely real story.
It happened on November 14, 1995 in Beijing. It all started with two people sitting at the bus stop at midnight - an elderly woman and a young guy.
While waiting for the bus, they met and talked softly and the elderly woman really liked this quiet and polite young man.
When the last bus on line 375 arrived, they both got on it. The old woman sat in the front seat, and the guy in the middle of the cabin. Apart from them, there was no one on the bus, except for the driver himself and the woman-conductor with tickets.
After a while, the bus driver saw two people on the side of the road waving their arms. The driver stopped, deciding that people needed help, and then two men entered the bus, holding a third one. The third man looked sick or wounded and his head hung down on his chest.
The trip continued at the same quiet and unhurried pace, but suddenly an elderly woman loudly announced that a young guy at the bus stop had stolen her wallet. The modest young man blushed and was very offended, and then said that he had not stolen anything.
However, the woman insisted louder and louder and had almost turned to insults. And then the bus driver stopped and asked an elderly woman and a young man to get out of him so that they would not solve their problems on the bus.
As soon as both were on the sidelines and the bus left, the elderly woman immediately stopped scolding the guy and became kind again. And when the guy marveled at such a contrast, the old woman told him that she had just saved his life.
Promotional video:
When asked what the danger was, the old woman said that two of the men who entered were actually not living people, but evil spirits, and she saw that they did not even walk on the ground, but "swam" not high above her. The third man they held by the arms was a human and was probably their victim, whom they had previously attacked and killed.
The old woman started a quarrel about a fictional theft of a wallet so as not to incur the wrath of these creatures. This seemed to her the only way to escape and she could not warn the bus driver and the conductor in any way.
After that, the old woman and the boy went to the police station, where they said that the bus driver and the female conductor from the last bus, flight 375, were in great danger due to ghosts. But no one believed them.
But the very next day, the police issued an announcement that the last bus, route 375, had disappeared from its route without a trace yesterday night. Both his driver and conductor disappeared.
The police also remembered an elderly woman and a young guy who came to them at night and who were almost declared insane because of their warning. Both were found and interrogated, and they again recounted what they had seen.
And two days later, the police found the missing bus in a reservoir 100 km from its final destination - Xiangshan Park. Inside the bus, three human bodies were found in a severe stage of decomposition.
Many secrets and unanswered questions immediately arose around this case.
First, the bus would simply not have enough gas to travel another 100 km from Xiangshan Park.
Second, the gas tank of the bus was filled with human blood instead of gasoline.
And thirdly, the bodies were in such a strong stage of decay, which cannot be achieved in just 48 hours from the moment of death. It would have been impossible even in the heat of summer, let alone in November.
An autopsy was performed and according to it, the bodies were not affected by any extraneous catalysts, that is, the decomposition was natural.
And as a result, the police looked through all the recordings from CCTV cameras installed at all entrances to the reservoir, but did not find the bus entering anywhere.
