Shadow People are a part of western urban folklore, but it is very difficult to tell what they are. Sometimes they are called Shadow Beings, Shadow Man (Black Man), Shadow People. Someone considers them a kind of ghosts.
Most often they are noticed with peripheral vision (corner of the eye) as a tall black silhouette and they move in chaotic jerks. Their body is not translucent like that of ghosts, but a deep black color. They are not believed to reflect light.
Sometimes they are noticed that they are wearing hats (hat) or some kind of clothing like raincoats. Some assure that the Shadow People are a special non-material form of life that has existed alongside a person since ancient times.
Others add to this that it is also a vicious parasitic energetic entity, whose purpose is to absorb energy from people and subsist on it. The easiest prey for them are sick and weak people, and very often because of this, the Shadow People can be seen next to the elderly.
The following story is told from the perspective of a woman who lived in her sick grandmother's house and looked after her as a nurse.
“It was late at night, at about 2 o'clock, and it was raining outside. I woke up from a thunderclap and then decided to go to the toilet. It was dark in my room, but the light was on in the adjoining room, and through the gap at the bottom of the door I saw two dark stripes like two legs, as if some person was standing by the door in that room.
I was surprised and thought that maybe my grandmother came to me to ask for something, and opened the door. And there was no one behind her. Strange, I thought, and went to the toilet, and then came back and again saw in the gap under the door two dark stripes from the legs. Someone was standing very close to the door. It was impossible to distinguish any details, just two black, very black stripes.
A chill ran down my spine and I opened that damn door to the adjoining room again. And there was nobody there again!

In a state of shock, I decided to return to my bed as soon as possible. I lay down and dozed off. and then I felt something that could be conveyed as if something heavy had fallen into my bed. The blow was so strong that the bed moved a little.
I opened my eyes and saw a dark mass in the shape of a human figure sitting at my feet. The eyes on his face were red and looked straight at me. Out of fear, I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, the creature was gone.
Before my move to my grandmother, I never saw this creature, but after that I noticed it several more times and it was always peripheral vision. A dark silhouette in these cases rushed sharply from the corners of rooms and corridors."
