The American, who, like in science fiction films, was sucked into a saucer-shaped alien ship, notes that the event that divided his life into "before" and "after" happened while he was on a campaign.
“My friend and I went on a hike in the hard-to-reach areas of Wyoming. One evening, when my friend had already gone to bed, I saw two flying objects that were moving in a very strange way. They either accelerated their flight, then slowed it down, and their trajectory made us generally doubt the reality of the observed. When I thought that this simply could not be happening in reality, the aliens seemed to read my mind, and one of the plates hung over me.
