Participants in the annual Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, held in Scotland, are promised a £ 50,000 reward for a selfie with the famous Loch Ness monster - Nessie. This was reported on the marathon website.

According to the organizer of the event, Malcolm Sutherland, an impressive cash prize will serve as a good incentive to prove whether the mysterious monster exists in reality. After all, Nessie is one of the main reasons why runners from all over the world come to the marathon.

The main thing is that the photo must be real.

Sutherland noted that runners are often photographed amid the breathtaking scenery of Loch Ness. It is possible that the famous monster could have gotten into the frame of someone. In this regard, the organizer of the marathon called on the participants of the races of past years to post their selfies on the social network. The money prize will be awarded to the author of the photo on which the plesiosaur will be captured. It is assumed that it is this prehistoric marine reptile that lives in the lake and is known throughout the world under the name Nessie.

Photos that allegedly capture the Loch Ness monster have appeared in the press with enviable regularity over the years. However, there is still no scientific confirmation of the existence of Nessie. However, over the past year, not a single new message about the monster has appeared. In this connection, suggestions have begun to be made that if the monster was found in the lake, then at the beginning of last year, apparently, died.

The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon has been held in Scotland since 2002. This year it will take place on September 27. It is assumed that over nine thousand people will take part in it.
