Sophie Hollins is only 12 years old, and her height is 1 meter 88 centimeters! A girl from Southampton (UK) has a rare disease - Marfan syndrome. Sophie says that she has already learned to accept herself and her abnormal growth, but still hopes that she will stop growing.
Since childhood, she stood out from the crowd of her peers, and it was not always easy for her. But now, from a height of 188 cm, Sophie Hollins is beginning to see the pros. The Guinness record holder learned to love her dissimilarity: “I always knew that I was different. From the first day in class, I was the tallest,”she says.

By the age of six, Sophie's height was already 147 cm. The picture shows little Sophie with her brother.
Sophie's mother, Lorraine, is only 163 cm tall, and Jan's father is 178 cm.
Sophie was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome when she was 8 months old. It is a congenital anomaly, a systemic underdevelopment of the connective tissue, leading to skeletal, cardiovascular and ocular pathology. The reason is in the violation of the synthesis of fibrillin protein, which gives elasticity and contractility to the connective tissue.
At the age of six, Sophie's height was already 147 cm. Without the help of doctors, she could become even taller than now. Two years ago, she underwent special growth control surgery, plus prescribed medication to speed up puberty.
The new Guinness World Record holder has learned to love her uniqueness and her height.
